So we begin:
A friend of mine is expecting, and was so sure about [name_u]Harmony[/name_u], but wanted her to be different so she changed it to [name_f]Harmonie[/name_f]. Knowing that she was a huge fan of The [name_u]Winter[/name_u]'s Tale and [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m], (and the fact that I loathed [name_f]Harmonie[/name_f]) I switched the i around, and made Harmione. When that got her attention, I changed one more letter, and gave her [name_f]Hermione[/name_f]. She absolutely loved it and asked me to help her with a middle. Using her list, (which included [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], and [name_f]Grace[/name_f]) I suggested [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], and she fell in love.
Now she wants opinions and I instantly thought of Nameberry. [name_f]Do[/name_f] y’all like it? Or should she switch to her backups of [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], or [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]?
Sorry it’s long, I just thought it was a cute story to tell
[name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is gorgeous! Much more interesting than her other ideas (although all her names are lovely). She could also use Hemma or Hemmie as nicknames (similar to [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]).
I like it! I think it’s fine that [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] is used. Only thing I don’t know if you thought of, is that [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is [name_f]Hermione[/name_f]'s daughter in the book, would that be too much? If she has no ill feelings about that (it would personally bother me even if I couldn’t put into words why, but I’m not everyone) then I say it’s perfection!
I also think [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] sounds beautiful, has she considered that? If she does decide to back out of [name_f]Hermione[/name_f], then the back up I’d pick is [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
[name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is gorgeous! [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are all pretty but quite boring compared to [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. On a side note [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_m]Watson[/name_m] (actor of [name_f]Hermione[/name_f]) full name is [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_m]Watson[/name_m].
I really like Hemma too! That’s nice old fashioned sounding yet has the fresh sound still that [name_f]Emma[/name_f] gives. I can just see people cooing Hemma and Hemma-[name_f]Emma[/name_f] at baby [name_f]Hermione[/name_f]. I don’t think it’s too much a stretch, not with how people get things like [name_m]Chuck[/name_m] from [name_m]Charles[/name_m].
That is a very lovely name! She should totally go for it. Also, if she is worried about the [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] connection (though it doesnt seem she is) one of the other name sites I read, either appellation mountain or once upon a time baby names, did an article on [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] that talks about the names history and how it shows up in ancient mythology.
I think its very pretty. [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] is also Shakespearean, as well as the name of a saint, so it’s not just connected to the Harry Potter character, which is a huge plus.
[name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is just gorgeous! Classic [name_f]Rose[/name_f] balances daring [name_f]Hermione[/name_f].
Io (eye-oh) would be another nickname option besides Hemma/Emma.
I personally like the name [name_f]Hermia[/name_f], too.
[name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is perfection! I think that [name_f]Emma[/name_f] could work as a nn, but I adore the suggestion if Hemma! I think it is funny that [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is a nn your friend likes for [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] because [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_m]Watson[/name_m] played [name_f]Hermione[/name_f]. Too cute.
I’m glad your suggested [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] to her because when I first read [name_f]Harmonie[/name_f] I wanted to say [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] not [name_u]Harmony[/name_u].
