Still not set on a baby sister name for [name_f]Zara[/name_f] (due in October)
Iāve recently found a love for the name [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f], or one of the alternate spellings (nickname Jas/Jaz). It also has a very similar meaning to [name_f]Zara[/name_f] which is so sweet. I think my favourite spelling is [name_f]Jazmin[/name_f] as it has a Z the same as my daughter. But Iād like opinions pleaseā¦
Thoughts on the name itself and if you think it sounds nice with [name_f]Zara[/name_f].
Is it too much of a mouthful with our surname Green@n (pronounced like āGreen-inā)? Iām still unsure how I feel about having the same end sounding to both the first and last name.
Which spelling would you choose? One of the above or something different?
Any middle name suggestions also appreciated! Preferably shorter and bonus points if one syllable without being too much of a āfillerā, I just like the flow better.
I think [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] goes well with [name_f]Zara[/name_f] and your last name. I agree with you on the short middle name. [name_f]Leigh[/name_f] or [name_m]Ray[/name_m]?
I think [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] is such a gorgeous and underrated pick! She goes excellently with [name_f]Zara[/name_f], but I think I prefer the classic [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] spelling to limit confusion ā the āzā sound is there anyways, which will tie your girls together. With your surname, I donāt think itās too much of a mouthful at all, especially with the short middle name to break things up.
Some middle name suggestions:
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Scout[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_m]Blake[/name_m]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Blue[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Star[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
Hm, my opinion on it really depends on the spelling! The Jasmine spelling feels sweet, floral and a little more timeless ā Jasmine and all its alternate spellings peaked in popularity in the 90s and early 2000s, but since Jasmine is the original and has the lovely nature association I think it feels a little fresher! The other spellings, like Jazmin, personally feel a little bit tired to me (especially next to Zara, which has a cool and fresh sound, a more 2000s name wouldnāt be my choice)
It is a little bit rhymey with your last nameā¦ But I think if itās your absolute favourite name, itās not so bad that you canāt use it! Iād personally avoid it but thatās me being nitpicky, realistically I donāt think it should be a dealbreaker!

Yeah I agree, the more I see it and say it, the [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] spelling definitely looks more ācompleteā.
[name_f]Kate[/name_f] is Zaraās middle name (love!), I also like [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Lou[/name_f]. [name_f]Belle[/name_f] is sweet too but too many princess names I think!
I quite like Jasmine/Jazmin - sharp and distinctive but pretty too. I think it works with [name_f]Zara[/name_f] and I love nn [name_m]Jaz[/name_m]!
I think the hard G sound at the start of your surname helps to break up the matching endings enough that it works.
Iād personally choose the [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] spelling I think, but then I prefer nn [name_m]Jaz[/name_m] and [name_f]Jazmin[/name_f] makes more sense with that - plus, I like that it matches the Z of Z@ra
I like [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]. But I only like that spelling, none of the alternative ones.
I think that [name_f]Zara[/name_f] and [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] do work well together.
Itās not hard to say with your last name. I donāt love the same syllable count + same ending sound, but that doesnāt mean itās a bad choice. Youāll have to decide for yourself if this is a deal breaker or not.
One syllable middle names with [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]:
I love [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] or [name_f]Jazmin[/name_f] but if unsure with the last name you could add the a and get [name_f]Jazmina[/name_f] or [name_f]Jasmina[/name_f] or go a little different with [name_f]Yasmina[/name_f]
Iād go with [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f], but either spelling works well with [name_f]Zara[/name_f]. Flow of the first and last name sounds fine. Middle name suggestions:
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] is a lovely name and would pair perfectly with [name_f]Zara[/name_f]. I prefer the original [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] spelling but [name_f]Jazmin[/name_f] would work just fine.
