I [name_u]Love[/name_u] the names [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Clover[/name_f], [name_f]Renee[/name_f], and [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] I can’t decide whether [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] is better with a G or J. Also which one of these names is your favourite?
I vastly prefer [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] to [name_f]Gillian[/name_f]. My favorite from your list is [name_f]Claire[/name_f], however, I quite like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] too!
I prefer the British spelling of [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] rather than [name_f]Jillian[/name_f].
My favorite of your list is [name_u]Ren[/name_u]ée, but I also like [name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] as well.
[name_u]LOVE[/name_u]:
[name_f]Jillian[/name_f] - absolutely beautiful classic, underused, stylish, a bit simple
[name_f]Clover[/name_f] - so unexpected, sweet but not too girly, contains the word ‘love’ which feels meaningful, bit of a statement
Like:
[name_f]Renee[/name_f] - great name, but prefer [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] much, much more
Neutral:
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]: It is simple and easy, yet divinely [name_m]French[/name_m]. I love the one syllable. I think it sounds bright and happy. My favorite on your list by far.
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]: Too Scooby-Doo for my tastes.
[name_f]Clover[/name_f]: This is a guilty pleasure name for me. I love that it has “love” and “lover” in it, but it also kind of sounds like “cleaver.”
[name_f]Renee[/name_f]: I don’t personally like this name, especially for a new baby, because it seems very stale and overused. Not old enough to be vintage, just to be out of date and style. Kind of like [name_f]Tiffany[/name_f].
[name_f]Gillian[/name_f]/[name_f]Jillian[/name_f]: I think [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] looks more refined–I don’t love the J. However… This is an extreme outlier for most, but [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] makes me think of Community actress that played “[name_f]Britta[/name_f]” who’s name is [name_f]Gillian[/name_f]. Although, if you can believe it, she pronounces it with a hard G. Like fish gills. [name_f]Gillian[/name_f]. Weird, but for some reason I can now never unsee/unhear it that way.
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] - Feels a little 2000s but not in a bad way. I like it, it’s a classic for a reason
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] - I love the vintagey feel! It isn’t super popular but it’s still such a well-known name which is a great balance.
[name_f]Clover[/name_f] - This is my dog’s name actually and while I love her to pieces it isn’t a name I could ever picture using on a person
[name_f]Renee[/name_f] - Feels a little dated and I can’t picture it on a baby or a little girl
[name_f]Jillian[/name_f] - It’s okay but not my favorite. I think the [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] spelling is more straightforward, but the [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] spelling is oddly appealing to me and I don’t know why
The only one I like is [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Jillian[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Gillian[/name_f] - loving it
[name_f]Jillian[/name_f] - liking it
[name_f]Renee[/name_f] - prefer [name_f]Renae[/name_f] - I don’t typically misspell names on purpose
[name_u]Love[/name_u] - [name_u]Clare[/name_u]
Like - [name_f]Claire[/name_f] - wishing it was less popular
The others are not my taste
I like [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] best. [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Renee[/name_f].
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Clover[/name_f]!
[name_f]Jillian[/name_f] - really sweet! A family friend of mine has a granddaughter named [name_f]Jillian[/name_f], and I’ve known a couple little ones with this name, and they’re all so sweet and cute! I admit to preferring [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] personally, but [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] is really lovely, too.
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] - far and away my ABSOLUTE favorite from this list! [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is a family name for me, and really has been a life-long favorite even before I realized it was an honor name. She’s so sweet and airy and timeless and intelligent, so infinitely wearable, and of all the names in the world, [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is one of the ones I would be gutted if I never got to use, and would probably be one of my first considerations if I ever had a daughter! I adore her, and I can’t sing her praises enough.
[name_f]Clover[/name_f] - it’s okay, but I admit to liking other nature names more (especially [name_f]Willow[/name_f], which weirdly feels similar to [name_f]Clover[/name_f] to me?). It seems like such a Hollywood baby pick to me, which I guess isn’t a bad thing, just not necessarily what I would personally want when picking my child’s name. I do like the idea, in a way, of the association to four-leaf clovers, sort of the idea that she’s your good luck charm, your precious sought-after little one, though.
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] - probably my second favorite after [name_f]Claire[/name_f]! I love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], but know one, so it seems a little weird for me to use it personally. I think [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] or [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] would be really sweet? Or [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f]!
[name_f]Renee[/name_f] - feels a little dated to me, but still lovely, and I love that it means “reborn”. I would honestly love to meet a little [name_f]Renee[/name_f] born nowadays, though!
I’d probably rank them:
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Renee[/name_f]
[name_f]Clover[/name_f]
[name_f]Jillian[/name_f]
But all are lovely!
Good luck!
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]- this is really popular for girls around my age so I’m a bit meh about it. Still a pretty name but it’s not my favorite
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]- definitely my favorite from your list! I love how spunky but sweet [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is.
[name_f]Clover[/name_f]- I think the right girl could pull this off but it’s a little out there for me
[name_f]Renee[/name_f]- sweet and underused as a first name, but I hear it a lot as a middle so it’s still a bit meh
[name_f]Gillian[/name_f]/[name_f]Jillian[/name_f]- I prefer the [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] spelling, although I had a friend named [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] who would still have people pronounce it as gill-ian instead of jill-ian. This is probably my second favorite
Ranking from favorite to least:
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Gillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Clover[/name_f]
[name_f]Renee[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
I like [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] but think [name_f]Jill[/name_f] is a bit bland.
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] is lovely but very common. I prefer [name_f]Claret[/name_f], [name_f]Clary[/name_f], [name_f]Clarion[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f].
[name_f]Clover[/name_f] to me does not sound like a name for a human being.
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is hands down my favorite.
[name_f]Renee[/name_f] I cannot abide. I don’t like any of the female [name_m]French[/name_m] names that made it big in the US some time back.
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]: A beautiful name, however I’ve heard [name_f]Claire[/name_f] so much that it’s lost it’s charm for me and feels boring/plain now.
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]: [name_u]Love[/name_u]! So beautiful, sophisticated, familiar yet not overused. I can see it on all ages. Probably my favorite from your list.
[name_f]Clover[/name_f]: Honestly sounds like what you might name a pet rabbit. I cannot see it working on a human and can’t take it seriously as a real name.
[name_f]Renee[/name_f]: Nothing inherently wrong with it, just nms
[name_f]Jillian[/name_f]/[name_f]Gillian[/name_f]: I prefer [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] as [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] reminds me of gills on a fish and I’m tempted to pronounce it that way. However, I don’t love [name_f]Jillian[/name_f]/[name_f]Gillian[/name_f] either way (just don’t like how it sounds) and I find it very dated-sounding. Plus, I know like 4 [name_f]Jillian[/name_f]'s and 3 [name_f]Jill[/name_f]'s which makes me dislike it more.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Jillian[/name_f]. [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] is generally pronounced here in the midwest with a hard sounding G as in grocery. Thus, [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] and [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] would have 2 diff meanings.
I love [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. I’m less excited about the other names on your list but would love to see more Claires around!
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is my favorite.
I have a daughter named [name_f]Gillian[/name_f], so my preferences are pretty obvious. ([name_f]Lillian[/name_f] had been my original preference but I thought it was just too popular. The extra sass of [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] seems to suit her though.) Be prepared to spell it out a lot though! [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is lovely, [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is fine, [name_f]Clover[/name_f] is cheerful and fun, we have a [name_f]Clover[/name_f] in our extended family. [name_f]Renee[/name_f] is kind of a “mom name” to me (maybe a grandma name by now I guess since moms are all named [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] and [name_u]Nichole[/name_u] now…)
