Thoughts on Jude?

I recently met someone name [name_m]Jude[/name_m] the other day and thought his name was so interesting. I feel like it has some kind of religious connotation but I kind of like the short flow and simplicity of it. What do you all think?

I’ve liked [name_m]Jude[/name_m] for a long time and it’s always fun to see it being used! I also like how short it is and the simplicity of it, makes it sweet but also strong! [name_f]My[/name_f] association with this name is the song “Hey Jude” by the Beatles, I always love a music reference for names so it makes [name_m]Jude[/name_m] a little bit more special:) But yes I love the name both as a first name and a middle name.

Definitely religious connotation (it’s a Biblical name—and am I remembering that there is a Book of [name_m]Jude[/name_m] in the Bible?), but also musical to other ears.

I have loved the name [name_m]Jude[/name_m] for a long while. Not sure it’s ever been on my list but gosh… such a solid, beautiful name! It feels floral to me and very familiar.

[name_m]Jude[/name_m] is a handsome name! I very much agree with the previous poster’s description of a “laid-back vibe” – it feels sweet, simple, but also effortlessly cool. I get what you mean with the slight religious vibe, but I don’t think it’s overwhelming. It has more of a kind of modern cowboy-esque vibe to me :sweat_smile: I’d expect a [name_m]Jude[/name_m] to have a brother named [name_m]Wesley[/name_m], not [name_m]Obadiah[/name_m], if that makes sense!

[name_f]My[/name_f] first association is and forever will be Hey [name_m]Jude[/name_m], and after all these years I’m still not sure if that’s a good thing or not… I’m sticking with neutral for now :sweat_smile:

Apart from that [name_m]Jude[/name_m] does feel Biblical to me (as a Catholic), but not as much as [name_m]Judah[/name_m]. If parents had a little [name_m]Judah[/name_m], I’d expect them to be religious. With [name_m]Jude[/name_m] it could go either way.
Overall I think [name_m]Jude[/name_m] has a pleasant sound, it feels playful but also grounded, if that makes sense. It’s quite charming, effortlessly cool and still gentle.

I love [name_m]Jude[/name_m]! So handsome. I knew a little boy a few years ago who would probably be about 8 now named [name_m]Jude[/name_m]. His little best friend was [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] and I had never like either name before but [name_m]Jude[/name_m] and [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] just seemed perfect! [name_m]Jude[/name_m] is lovely :sauropod:
