[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and i are having a boy and the name we are really liking now is [name_u]Julian[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u]. But the past few days we have watched 2 shows on tv and had a random friend reference the name [name_u]Julian[/name_u] in a negative way (nobody knows our choice). Now of course we’re rethinking.
Hoping for some opinions on the name and also other names you like - we don’t want something overly trendy. We love the name [name_u]Everett[/name_u] but it’s our nephew. We like [name_m]Gavin[/name_m] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u].
I adore [name_u]Julian[/name_u] and it’s on our list as well! [name_u]Julian[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] is such a handsome and strong combination! I also like [name_m]Gavin[/name_m] and [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]
Out of the four names you mentioned ([name_u]Julian[/name_u], [name_m]Gavin[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], and [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]) [name_u]Julian[/name_u] is definitely my favorite with [name_m]Jack[/name_m] coming in second, [name_m]Gavin[/name_m] in third, and [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] last. [name_u]Julian[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] is a super good name and they go well together. I wouldn’t let references from TV/your friend deter you from using the name unless it was super horrible, but you probably wouldn’t remember it once you see your son and really feel that the name suits him.
I absolutely love [name_u]Julian[/name_u]. It was on our list for our second baby but our first was [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] and I thought they were too similar. I also like [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]. How about [name_m]Lucian[/name_m]?
I think [name_u]Julian[/name_u] is handsome and ages well.
[name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] is my all time favourite boys name though. If only my partner liked it.
I think I know what you’re talking about. I have heard [name_u]Julian[/name_u] used as a stereotypical “gay” name in the media. However, I really like [name_u]Julian[/name_u] and (if you live in the US) it is very popular nowadays, so I can’t see it being a big issue.
I love [name_u]Julian[/name_u]! I wouldn’t pay any attention to what your friend thinks, because when your son is here your friend will associate the name [name_u]Julian[/name_u] with him, but if you do want some other ideas I also like [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_m]Zachary[/name_m], or [name_u]Jensen[/name_u].
I really like [name_u]Julian[/name_u]! It has a clear sound, and a nice vibe. [name_f]My[/name_f] only concern would be that it’s still got a bit of a public-schoolboy-now-in-his-fifties vibe here, but that’s not a problem in the states.
I love [name_u]Julian[/name_u]. To me, it has much of the same appeal as [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] (also lovely) – strong and sophisticated, but with a soft, musical sound. It’s also an excellent international name, used in many different countries and languages. I love the nicknames [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_u]Jules[/name_u] as well.
Julian and [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] are definitely my favourites of your choices, but I do really like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] as well. Maybe [name_m]Fabian[/name_m], [name_m]Emilian[/name_m] or [name_m]Raphael[/name_m]? [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_m]Colin[/name_m], [name_u]Callum[/name_u] or [name_m]Graham[/name_m]?
I love [name_u]Julian[/name_u] and know a teenage boy with the name and it works so well. I’m not familiar with any negative associations but likely most names come with something negative if we look hard enough, so I wouldn’t let that cause you to discard the name you love. [name_u]Julian[/name_u] is well known and there would also be many positive associations.
Julian is a great name, and I love [name_u]Julian[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] as a combo! I went to school with several Julians and never recall any of them being teased for their name. I think it would make a lovely, solid choice that’s interesting without being “out there.” I definitely vote yes! I really like [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] too, though!
