Thoughts on Keziah?

This name is really growing on me, what are your thoughts on it?

Thanks!

I know someone with this name, it’s pretty. She pronounces it Keh-ZEE-ah but i could also see it as Keh-ZYE-ah x

On the plus side, I think it’s an uncommon Biblical name with lots of flair. But on the downside, I’m never quite sure how to pronounce it. Keh-ZY-a was my first assumption, but [name_f]Kezia[/name_f] Dugdale (the politician) pronounces her name KEZ-ee-a.

I’m reading a novel with a [name_f]Kezia[/name_f] in it! I have found I like [name_f]Kezia[/name_f] more than [name_f]Keziah[/name_f], but I can see the appeal of both. I love me a good Hebrew name AND a good tree name (I love the tie to my own tree-related name!), so I’ve been considering adding [name_f]Kezia[/name_f] to my list as a middle. I like it a lot.

I love [name_f]Keziah[/name_f]! It’s a biblical name but doesn’t have a religious meaning (it means cinnamon! How cute!) so I think it’s super versatile. I’ve always heard it keh-ZYE-uh but I could see how people would say it differently.

Great name! Very zesty.

I like [name_f]Keziah[/name_f] and [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] (weren’t they Biblical sisters?).

I also love [name_f]Kamala[/name_f], [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f], and [name_f]Keturah[/name_f].

I love it! I think it’s super cool. I used the name as one of my main character’s sisters in a story. It’s got a really lively sound to me.

Not my favourite, but it’s fine. The only one I know of pronounces it KEZ-ee-uh.

I pronounce it KEH-zee-uh. Although I know the real spelling is [name_f]Keziah[/name_f], I prefer [name_f]Kezia[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Keziah[/name_f]! Are you pronouncing it as [name_f]Kez[/name_f]-eye-ah or [name_f]Kez[/name_f]-ee-ah? I’ve heard both, but I do personally prefer the latter - I decided not to put it on my list though because of the pronunciations, as I don’t like correcting my own name :stuck_out_tongue:

Where do you live?

Keziah and, [name_f]Keturah[/name_f] are two of my favorite under rated Bible names

I haven’t seen [name_f]Keziah[/name_f] much before; it sounds pretty cool and I like the Z in the middle! As others have mentioned, the only part that makes me hesitant is the multitudes of pronunciations! When I see it spelled this way I say ā€œkeh-ZYE-uhā€ (because it reminds me of [name_f]Mariah[/name_f]) but when it is spelled [name_f]Kezia[/name_f], I am more inclined to say ā€œkeh-ZEE-uh.ā€

I pronounce it [name_f]Kez[/name_f]-EE-ah, that’s how my family pronounces it as well and I know a [name_f]Keziah[/name_f] who pronounces it [name_f]Kez[/name_f]-EE-ah but [name_f]Kez[/name_f]-EYE-ah is also really nice!
