Thoughts on Kinvara?

This is a name I very rarely see mentioned on NB and I feel like it has a lot going for it!

Also spelt Kinvarra, it comes from an Irish Gaelic place name meaning “head of the sea”. I’ve seen it crop up a few times in Telegraph birth announcements in recent years.

Possible nicknames: [name_f]Kiki[/name_f], [name_f]Kizzy[/name_f], [name_f]Vara[/name_f]… [name_u]Kit[/name_u]

Oooo It’s one of those names I would be blown away when hearing for the first time and would think it’s kinda odd. But the more I look at it, the more charming it gets. I actually like it.

It has got a slightly offbeat vibe, hasn’t it? I agree with you – it’s a very characterful name

I think it’s interesting and different. It sounds like the name of a character in a fantasy novel. I would love to meet a Kinvara.

Oh I love it! It’s so intriguing and distinct in sound!

Kinvara/Kinvarra is interesting! I think I like Kinvarra a bit more myself? I’d love to meet a Kinvarra… it feels sort of Cornish, in a way? But I can also see that it’d be Gaelic. I think [name_u]Kit[/name_u] or maybe even [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] would be a cute nn? [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] is a stretch, but anyways.

I agree! It reminds me a little of [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f], which I also love.

I haven’t heard this name before and I quite like it! It has a vary beachy and light vibe to it, cheerful and happy. [name_f]Kizzy[/name_f]’s so cute! Maybe [name_f]Nivi[/name_f]/Niva? A bit of a stretch but not too much.

Ooh Kinvara is intriguing! At first glance the sounds are a little sharper (?) (for lack of a better word) than I’m usually drawn to, but I can definitely see the appeal–bold and bright and interesting, but I think very wearable.

I quite like it! I find the transition from the N to the V to be a bit jarring but I’ll definitely be adding this to the character name list I really should write down!
