What is your opinion on the name Kit? Either as a name on it’s own or a nickname for Katherine

I really like the name! I do prefer it on a boy - but I think it’s still quite lovely on a girl. It’s sweet but different, familiar but unexpected and it certainly has a cool vibe.
I really like Kit! It’s sweet, to the point, timeless, and ages well. The only Kit I can think of is the American Girl character Kit Kittredge. I like it as a nickname for Katherine as well.

I personally dislike it, sorry. Makes me think of a first aid kit.
As a nickname it’s okay.
But I prefer [name_u]Kitty[/name_u] or [name_f]Kate[/name_f] or [name_f]Katie[/name_f] or no nickname for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f].
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Kit[/name_u] -such a cool, fun name, with spark and kick 
i love kit! i do prefer it on a girl, and i love it as a nickname for katherine and on its own. such a great name! 
I think [name_u]Kit[/name_u] can be really sweet! I prefer it on a girl, and I prefer [name_u]Kitty[/name_u] as a whole, but I think [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] “Kit” is adorable! 
I think it’s really cute as a nn, although I would hesitate to use it for [name_f]Katharine[/name_f], since it’s such a popular name.
I definitely think to use it as a nickname for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] instead of by itself. [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] is lovely, and it’s a cute, spunky nickname! If she doesn’t like the androgynous feel as she gets older, then [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is able to be derived from [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] too, so I think it’s best to go with the full name and [name_u]Kit[/name_u] as a nn 
I know a lot of members here prefer for a boy, but I’m actually a Kit-on-a-girl lover! I do prefer it to be a nickname, but it’s wonderful any way! 
my personal favorite long forms of it are [name_f]Katarina[/name_f] and [name_f]Kirsten[/name_f]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] is great! It’s very gender neutral to me, which I really like. I think works well on its own.
I prefer [name_u]Kit[/name_u] as a stand-alone name for a boy but I think for a nickname for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] ‘Kit’ is sweet.
Kit’s one of the few unisex names I really like for anyone. I started warming to it on a girl, because of a character, so I get a really fun, kinda punky, cool vibe from it. I quite like it as a full name, but I do enjoy it as a nickname for Cat-/Kat- names too.
Echoing the sentiment that I generally prefer it as a standalone on a boy.
However, it’s absolutely grown on me as a girl’s name - I think it’s a great, underused nickname for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], but can work by itself of course.
I like it as a nickname for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] or [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]. It’s fresh-faced and confident. As a full name, though, it’s flimsy.
I love [name_u]Kit[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. I adore long names with spunky nicknames and [name_u]Kit[/name_u] / [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] or /Katrina fit that bill !!
