Thoughts on Lachlan?

Struggling to find the perfect boy name. We like Irish/Scottish names and came across the name [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]. We really like it. However, we live in the U.S. and have never met anyone by that name. That said, it has some similarities to other names that are popular here like [name_u]Liam[/name_u], [name_u]Logan[/name_u], [name_u]Declan[/name_u], and [name_m]Gavin[/name_m]. Curious about what others would think if they met a little boy named [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] especially those in the U.S. . . .

I like [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]. It sounds like a nice spin on [name_u]Logan[/name_u]/Declan/other popular names, while still being distinct.
I think [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] would suit a lot of personalities and would be fitting for anyone from a little baby to an old man.

I like it. How do you pronounce it as I think there are two ways of pronounciation. I also love [name_m]Findlay[/name_m]/Finlay for a boy! And [name_m]Fraser[/name_m] which are both Scottish

Nothing wrong with it.

I love [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]. In the US it will probably be pronounced [name_m]Lock[/name_m]-lin. I don’t think anyone would have too much of a problem with it.

I live in the US and I really like [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]! I’ve met two Lachlans, I think, and heard of a third as a youtuber’s son. I don’t think it anyone would have difficulty with it here or find it strange at all. It’s very nice.

It’s a great name! It’s in the top 1000 in the US so I think it wouldn’t be an issue. You might run into some pronunciation issues but I don’t think it’d be a big problem!

I love [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]! However I have so little patience when it comes to correcting a name’s pronunciation (I do this almost everyday with my own name) so that would definitely put me off.

I know people say it’s just a 5 second thing but once you do it all day everyday you start seeing it as a chore and not just an occasional thing

I don’t like in the US, but I think [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] is a very handsome name! Cool, fresh, strong and energetic! I really like it!

Hi there.

I really like it. It’s handsome, sporty, kind & charming. It seems like it works well on any age too. It’s different, but I don’t think that it’s too different at all. Fairly straight forward, & close to [name_u]Declan[/name_u] which is getting more common.

Hope this helps.

I went to high school with a [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] here in the US (though I think he spelled it [name_m]Lochlan[/name_m]). I think it’s a nice name, and perfectly usable. It’s actually sort of a sweet-spot name: it fits in with trends, but he’s unlikely to share his name with someone in class.

I’ve met a few Lachlans in Australia! Most go by Lachy for a nn.
Its a lovely name!

Im in the US and I love it!

I like it. It will suit all ages. I think that [name_u]Lannie[/name_u] is a cute nickname for it too.

Love [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]! Rugged and cool
