Thoughts on Leah?

Hi everyone!

What are your thoughts on Leah?
I’m beginning to really like it. This spelling only, however.

What middle names would you pair with it?

I like Leah Rose but that could be a little simplistic. Also, thanks to some wonderful suggestions here, Leah Josephine, Leah Charlotte and Leah Catherine!

What do you guys think?

Leah is one of those “just fine” names where I appreciate that it’s classic and down-to-earth but it just feels a bit boring to me. I’d pick a slightly more exciting middle than Rose, while sticking to your classic style, maybe Leah Rosamund, Leah Madeleine, Leah Frances, Leah Theodora, Leah Constance, Leah Maxine, Leah Felicity, Leah Vivienne, Leah Marianne, Leah Tabitha, Leah Josephine, Leah Victoria, Leah Marguerite, Leah Margot, Leah Caroline, etc.

I was just thinking [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]!
To keep in with my style. Sadly I’ve already got [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], but it’s not a bad idea to have multiple pairings with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] as it’s an honour name for me

I love [name_f]Leah[/name_f]! I think she’s so melodic and pretty, whilst still being down to earth and familiar

[name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]
[name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]
[name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_u]Paris[/name_u]
[name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Star[/name_f]

Le@h is my sister’s name and it fits her beautifully! she’s 20, and has gotten compliments her whole life on how pretty and “uncommon” her name is (by non-name nerd standards lol). it terms of sound, without my association, it’s pretty but doesn’t really stand out. it’s a lot like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] to me in that regard!

It would be very refreshing to meet a baby [name_f]Leah[/name_f]. A strong biblical name

I love [name_f]Leah[/name_f] - simple, strong and (to me) nicely familiar whilst still unexpected, although I’m aware she’s more popular in the US. She has a very gentle sound to me, although the meaning is a little unfortunate. Given that she was such a vitally important biblical matriach I’ve always wondered why I don’t hear the name more in religious circles; she’s on my longlist and I’d be really excited to meet a little [name_f]Leah[/name_f].

[name_f]Leah[/name_f] is my name and I love it! It’s well-known but not overly common, familiar in many languages (sometimes pronounced or spelled slightly differently but I don’t mind that), and personally I think it sounds friendly and grounded. I like the gentle yet strong sound, and I get a lot of compliments on it, too.

I think [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is classic and pretty! I can also see the appeal of a more unique middle name though – I love the earlier suggestion of [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]! Other similar ideas could be [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], or [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Roisin[/name_f].

Personally [name_f]Leah[/name_f] has never stood out to me of course she’s a classic, has strong biblical history but I just find the name a bit blah she lacks sparkle for me. However I do completely see the appeal.

[name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is very simple and straight to the point but I would prefer something with a bit of sparkle maybe [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] instead. I like the idea of a whimsical nature name like [name_u]Cypress[/name_u], [name_f]Isabeau[/name_f], [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Leah[/name_f] but probably wouldn’t use it personally. I find it more refreshing than [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] or [name_f]Mia[/name_f] (which are more commonly used, I think? I’m not checking popularity though), but it’s one of those just “nice” names that aren’t wow. If I met a little [name_f]Leah[/name_f], I would be pleased, but not as excited as some of my own favorites, like, [name_f]Adele[/name_f] or [name_f]Eve[/name_f], for example. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is standard enough it doesn’t add to [name_f]Leah[/name_f] imo but there’s nothing wrong with the name. I love the suggestions of [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], and [name_f]Leah[/name_f] Magdalen(a)!

I’m rather fond of C names with [name_f]Leah[/name_f], I’ve always thought [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_u]Camille[/name_u] and [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] were sweet.

Good luck!

I haven’t given [name_f]Leah[/name_f] much thought but it’s definitely a pretty and “international” name. I probably wouldn’t pair with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as it’s a little too expected - as others have said, maybe [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_u]Penrose[/name_u] or a longer classic (Charlotte, [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] etc) would be better. I prefer [name_f]Lara[/name_f] or [name_f]Zara[/name_f] but nothing wrong with [name_f]Leah[/name_f]!

[name_f]My[/name_f] sister is [name_f]Leah[/name_f] and I have never given her name much though as we both have pretty “plain” names. But I haven’t heard anyone give their baby the name in a couple decades and it’s never been super popular so that gives it points in my book! It is a sweet name and could go well with all the [name_f]Lila[/name_f], [name_f]Layla[/name_f] and Lillys out there right now!

I think [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is actually quite pretty! While I lean toward more lengthy names, I would melt if I heard of new [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]! What an absolute doll of a name for a sweet baby girl.

[name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is lovely!!
And it’s a honour name for me, so I like that.
I greatly dislike [name_f]Zara[/name_f] (due to personal connotations), and I’ve met about 8 Lara’s, so they’re both off the table for me.

[name_f]Leah[/name_f] was one of my favorite names when I was little! [name_m]Even[/name_m] though it’s a little “plain,” I still think it’s gorgeous. [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is so lovely
