Recently, I’ve been thinking about the name [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] (not pregnant, just hypothetical). It’s pretty consistent my naming style, which I would describe as “soft grandpa names”. I really like the sound of [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] [name_u]Percy[/name_u] or [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. Also, I love the potential nickname of [name_u]Lyle[/name_u] or [name_m]Lion[/name_m]. Anyways, I guess my question is about the usability of [name_u]Lionel[/name_u]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think a child born in the 2020s would be able to pull off this name? And just overall, what do you think about it?

I really like the name [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] and think it’s totally usable, especially with the current popularity of [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. I also really enjoy the combo [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] [name_u]Percy[/name_u]

I think a current child would be able to pull off the name! I like it a lot, I think it’s so cool and handsome. It reminds me of [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] Messi, which gives it a modern, athletic vibe too.

I don’t like [name_m]Leo[/name_m]/Leonard/Leopold etc but [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] is really sweet to me

I definitely think [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] works for a child born in the 2020s! It has a cool, funky-yet-gentle sound that I really like. [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] [name_u]Percy[/name_u] is such a memorable combo!

I love the “soft grandpa names” too. It’s absolutely usable and I think it’s a really cute name that feels both sweet and bookish. [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] could definitely grow on me especially with the nn [name_m]Lion[/name_m] (SO CUTE)
