Thoughts on Locket

Like [name_f]Celia[/name_f] Locket or [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] Locket or [name_f]Freya[/name_f] Locket, would it be weird as name?
[name_f]My[/name_f] child will probably use her middle name, and there’s no way to hide it… would it be weird or is Locket like [name_f]Amethyst[/name_f]?

Locket is pretty unique. In terms of word names, its fair play… but its not my favorite.
It kind of sounds like a cartoon character

Other ideas:
[name_m]Lochlan[/name_m] nn [name_m]Lockie[/name_m]
[name_f]Lynette[/name_f]

I don’t think it’s weird, esp if it’s in the middle spot
but I am a huge fan of the names like [name_f]Amethyst[/name_f], [name_f]Emerald[/name_f], [name_f]Elsinore[/name_f], [name_u]Poet[/name_u] etc…
I [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] Locket, elegant with a spark.

I’m not a huge fan of Locket, sorry

I quite like the combo [name_f]Freya[/name_f] Locket, though :slightly_smiling_face:

I can’t really see it as a name, sorry. But it would work as a middle.

I’m not a fan. But it can work as a mn,; I agree with @river_dweller that it sounds like a cartoon character.

I like it! I have [name_f]Amoret[/name_f] Locket

I like it as a middle. I think it will be sweet.

I think this name’s got a point, it’s an icon, it’s a legend and it is the moment.

It is pretty cool, but I prefer it as a mn.

i like it as a middle :))

I actually like it a lot! It’s a familiar word with a pretty sound and meaning, plus it’s similarity to [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] (or even more so, [name_f]Locklyn[/name_f]) and -et names like [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] make it feel usable.

I think pretty much anything is fine as a middle name. Locket is interesting, I like it

Such a cool word! Of course you’re talking to someone who the other day thought how pretty lozenge would be for a name!

I think it’s a fine middle, though I’m curious what you mean when you see your daughter will probably use her middle name?

Kind of reminds me of [name_f]Cameo[/name_f]. I had a babysitter in the 80’s named [name_f]Cameo[/name_f] that I was quite fond of. I collected them after that as a child.

It has history of use as a name, but admittedly I don’t really get it? Like with many word names I get the appeal- descriptive colors, places, or other living things like plants and animals, that all paint a really lovely or poetic picture.

Lockets are a pretty trinket, but what they add to the mood and visual of a name just feels, off? Lockets make me think of something kept concealed, hidden, or secret. And while I suppose it could be sentimental as they’re something you keep, “close to your heart” the locket is just the vessel you carry something in- the thing in the locket is actually what you’re trying to keep close to your heart.

More than that, a locket is a possession, and also kinda of symbolizes the act of possession, and for me, I don’t like that for a name of a human being.

That’s just how it reads to me though.

It’s quite pretty. Here in the UK it’s the name of a throat lozenge though.

I’m a big fan of word names in general, but this one isn’t working for me for some reason, sorry! I think all the hard consonant sounds, maybe? [name_f]Celia[/name_f] Locket does sound lovely, though.

I think it’s cute. It reads like it could be a surname middle to me. [name_f]Celia[/name_f] Locket is beautiful and [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] Locket is also lovely.

I like Locket for a mn spot. I’m a big fan of the surname [name_m]Locke[/name_m] for boys so I don’t see why you can’t use Locket! Though I will say, I like the sound but I’m not sure on how it looks for some reason
[name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] Locket is very sweet!
