I know some people have strong opinions about names like [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_u]Rae[/name_u] etc… as middle names for various reasons… I know there will always be people who like and dislike the names you choose but I’m worried about what people will think of this name.
I’ve posted before about finding a middle name for [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and we have both seem to have agreed that we like [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]. Doesn’t feel like a filler name to me because of [name_f]Iris[/name_f]'s connection to the rainbow and [name_u]Rae[/name_u] reminding me of sunshine. Feels like a lovely, symbolic name to me (our first baby definitely feels like a ray of sunshine after a seriously crap year).
The other mn for [name_f]Iris[/name_f] we eventually agreed on for [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] but I think it might be too long, a bit frilly and doesn’t flow as nice. We have a really long surname!

I don’t find it exciting at all tbh, but there’s nothing wrong with it. The meaning behind [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] is nice.
This is what I am worried about, I am scared people will think it’s boring and I’m frightened that she will think it’s boring too.
I really like [name_u]Rae[/name_u] and I think [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] is a pretty combination

People’s thoughts don’t really matter. I think she would be fine with it since [name_f]Iris[/name_f] isn’t common.

Also can I just say that both [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_u]Rae[/name_u] could work ?
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]?
I liked iris for a long while. [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] was on my list. I think [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] could work. It literally means happy rainbow.

I had considered [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] because I like 2 middle names and I thought it toned down the frilliness of [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] - but DH is sadly not of the same opinion, he doesn’t like 2 middle names but it’s definitely one to put firmly on the list. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] is adorable

While [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] sounds fine, I do find [name_u]Rae[/name_u] a bit of a filler middle. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is more interesting.

I like [name_u]Rae[/name_u] as a middle. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] feels too short though, personally not a fan of 2 one syllable names. I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]

I don’t like it, I don’t hate it. It reminds me a bit much about [name_f]Star[/name_f] Wars, though.

I love how it sounds but I’m not sold on how it reads… if that makes sense? Husband says I’m overthinking it. Probably am.

I like [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]! I can see what you mean about it being a “filler”, but I think it’s a lot spunkier and more unexpected than other “filler” names like [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_u]Marie[/name_u], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], etc.

Thank you, I thought it was a bit more unusual than [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. Both of which are still lovely names. I don’t truly think any name is a filler name. We’ve had a little think about it and have decided that we’re going to go with [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] instead. Has that ‘aa’ sound I like but writes a bit nicer than [name_u]Rae[/name_u]
