Thoughts on Minnie?

It is one of my top three names for my twin, her middle name is to be [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] and her twin will be [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f].

I was just wondering what you thought of the name? Good or bad?

I would just like to add that we live in the UK which I swear is the land of the nicknames, so they are a lot more excepted. I actually met a woman in pregnancy yoga who has three children all with stunning nicknames ([name_u]Vinny[/name_u], [name_f]Mitzi[/name_f] and [name_f]Roxy[/name_f] and she says her next little boy will be [name_m]Ziggy[/name_m]).

Anyhoo, thoughts on [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f]?

I like both names individually, but not together. [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] is cute and, to me, [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] is elegant. Somehow my brain has trouble moving from the first to the second. Or perhaps the sounds don’t flow together for me.

[name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_f]Eglantine[/name_f]
[name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_u]Felice[/name_u]
[name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_f]Justine[/name_f]

Those are just a few of my thoughts

I love [name_f]Minnie[/name_f]! I don’t feel strongly about [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] one way or the other. I think it flows well with [name_f]Minnie[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Minnie[/name_f], I’d definitely use it if I could find a longer formal name for it. I agree with previous posters that Im
not crazy about [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] but if you like it use it!

I like [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u].

[name_f]Minnie[/name_f] is adorable, but I don’t think it flows well with [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f]. They are different era/style names. Because of the phonetics of [name_f]Minnie[/name_f], making it flow with another name is probably going to be difficult, but the right name would be suuuper cute!
Also, it needs to be considered that “mini” has certain connotations and will sound strange in front of some names ( e.g. [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]; [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f]; etc)

Have you thought about maybe something like [name_u]Josie[/name_u]? (connection to [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f], but short and sweet like [name_f]Minnie[/name_f])

Other ideas might be… [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]? [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u]?

I love [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] but my husband vetoed it because of the “mouse” connection. Definitely go for it! It goes well with [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] too.

When I hear [name_f]Minnie[/name_f], I think of [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] Mouse. [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] would make a cute nickname for a girl but I would want her to have something more formal that she can use. Same with [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]. Maybe you could name your children formally as [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] while calling them [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], especially since neither of their middle names are nickname names. That said, [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] sounds old to me.

I think [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] is cute but I would use it as a nickname and give her a more formal name to use in her professional life, if she so chooses. I’m just imagining looking in a directory for an attorney/lawyer or doctor and my choice being Dr. [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] vs Dr. [name_u]Dominique[/name_u] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] or [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] vs [name_f]Mina[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] and whether it makes sense or not, I would likely pick the more formal name. I don’t live in the UK so it may be different there. Some suggestions that would work as [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] for a nn, actually anything with min in it…

[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]
[name_f]Mina[/name_f]
[name_u]Dominique[/name_u]
[name_f]Yasmin[/name_f]
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f]

[name_f]Minnie[/name_f] is cute, but I have my qualms with any name that can describe you physically. I personally would feel bad if I named my child [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] and she was the opposite. Maybe thats just me though.

[name_f]Lottie[/name_f] and [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] sound like nice names for twins.

[name_f]Minnie[/name_f] is gorgeous  [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] sounds a bit stuffy imo, [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] ?

I like it a lot! I actually considered [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] as a name for my son had he been a girl. I think it’s sweet and vintage sounding.

[name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] is gorgeous, but [name_f]Minnie[/name_f]…first thoughts: [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] Mouse…seems cartoonish. I always felt sorry for [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_m]Driver[/name_m] because of her name, but I guess if I looked like her, I wouldn’t care.

[name_f]Lottie[/name_f] and [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] are absolutely gorgeous together, oh my goodness! Both are favourites of mine though, so I’m a bit biased  I think they’re marvelous names - [name_f]Minnie[/name_f]'s such a lovely vintage choice, as is [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]! [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] is also gorgeous!

[name_f]Lottie[/name_f] and [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] are the cutest!
