I apologize if this has been asked already…I can’t remember! I was hoping to get some honest, “real world” reactions to this name. It isn’t one that I’ve brought up much, but it holds a special place in both mine and my husband’s hearts. Though we are not of the Jewish faith (I think this name is more popular in Jewish communities than in other circles, these days), we are religious and have heard the stories of [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] several times…though her latter days weren’t as necessarily admirable as her early ones, there are lessons we have taken from her life and admire her faith and love of her brother. I apologize, I know we aren’t really supposed to talk of such things, but I am trying to give just a simple explanation of one main reason we like the name.
Thing is, we know many may think it too “old” or “clunky.” It doesn’t bother us, but we are aware. I just wonder if there is anything else people have to say about it.
Also, what middle names would you pair with it? I don’t really have any ideas, so I am curious as to what you guys think would go great with it, according to your own preferences.
I adore [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], regardless of connotations. It’s whimsical but practical, and I love it! It seems like it deserves to be brought back.
I really like [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]. It sounds sweet and cute but also mature, plus, it has the nicknames [name_f]Miri[/name_f] and [name_f]Ami[/name_f].
I love the quiet strength of this name. I would agree that it is not exactly on-trend, but I don’t think it is too far out either. I really, really love the nicknames [name_f]Miri[/name_f] and [name_f]Mimi[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
