Hey everyone! I’d love to hear your thoughts on season and month names [name_f][/name_f]- or word names in general. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like them? Are there any you’d personally use or avoid?
[name_f][/name_f]Names like [name_f]April[/name_f], [name_f]May[/name_f], [name_f]June[/name_f], and [name_m]August[/name_m] feel pretty well-established, but I’ve also seen some influencers considering names like [name_f]October[/name_f], [name_f]November[/name_f] or [name_f]December[/name_f].
[name_f][/name_f]Then there are season names [name_f][/name_f]- [name_f]Summer[/name_f] and [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] are fairly common, and I’ve heard of [name_f]Winter[/name_f] being used too. But I don’t think [name_f]Spring[/name_f] will be catching on anytime soon, lol.
[name_f][/name_f]This also ties into broader naming trends, like:
[name_f][/name_f]Place names (e.g. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Brooklyn[/name_f], [name_m]Paris[/name_m], [name_m]Brighton[/name_m], Austin)
[name_f][/name_f]Nature/animal names (e.g. [name_m]River[/name_m], [name_m]Forrest[/name_m], [name_f]Fern[/name_f], [name_f]Willow[/name_f], Wren)
[name_f][/name_f]Word/virtue names (e.g. [name_f]Hope[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_m]True[/name_m], [name_f]Sage[/name_f], Faith)
Where do you personally draw the line between a word that works as a name and one that still feels too much like a word? [name_m]Or[/name_m] do you think it’s more of a case-by-case thing?
[name_f][/name_f]And then there’s the question of sibling sets [name_f][/name_f]- if all the names follow a theme, does that make it better or worse?
[name_f][/name_f]Personally, I probably wouldn’t choose a name with a strong, non-name meaning for my own kids, but I think some of them are really cute and would happily suggest them to others!
[name_f][/name_f]If you have a name like this, named your child one, or know someone with one, I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences!
