Thoughts on my boys' list

I’d like some feedback on our current shortlist of boy names, please  feel free to be honest or even give suggestions if something sounds better to you than what we’re thinking. Some of these are old and I’ve asked about them before, but I can’t remember which… With each name, I’ll include a little explanation of it. Thank you! Note, not currently expecting…just collecting.

[name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Powell[/name_m]: We both really like the name [name_m]Ian[/name_m]. We love the meaning (“the [name_m]Lord[/name_m] is gracious”)…my husband is in ministry, so we think it is a great way to sort of honor our faith without choosing an extremely obvious biblical name like [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] or [name_m]Abraham[/name_m], which would make it more wearable for our potential son no matter what his beliefs are. [name_m]Powell[/name_m] is a family name. It was the middle name of my husband’s late grandfather and is the middle name of one of my husband’s brothers.

[name_m]Dawson[/name_m] [name_m]Moore[/name_m]: No real reason behind [name_m]Dawson[/name_m]. It was the first name my husband really liked. [name_m]Moore[/name_m] is after the place we met.

[name_m]Enzo[/name_m] [name_m]Dominic[/name_m]: [name_m]New[/name_m] name on the list. [name_m]Enzo[/name_m] was a new find we came across. It’s a name that honors my heritage and would be a bit of a clever honor name. DH’s grandfather was named [name_m]Henry[/name_m], which we also like. However, we don’t want to make anyone sad by using [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. Nameberry lists [name_m]Enzo[/name_m] as form of [name_m]Henry[/name_m], so it works as a way to honor his family but also give our boy his own name. [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] is from my side, being the name of my dad’s cousin/his god-father. We like the meaning and think the names go well together!

[name_m]Timothy[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]: We like the sturdiness, strength, and simplicity of [name_m]Timothy[/name_m]. [name_u]James[/name_u] is one of my husband’s middle names.

[name_m]Paul[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m]: Another new name. My husband really admires [name_m]Paul[/name_m] from the bible. I like it because it reminds me of [name_m]Paul[/name_m] Konerko, my favorite (former) Sox player lol. Plus the name is strong. [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] is sort of a nod to my mom. She always wanted a son named [name_m]Anthony[/name_m], but never was able to use that name. I’m not too sure on this combo, but both names are equally important to us.

I realy like the [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] and [name_m]Ian[/name_m] combos. My order of preference is probably: [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Powell[/name_m], [name_m]Paul[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m], [name_m]Enzo[/name_m] [name_m]Dominic[/name_m], [name_m]Dawson[/name_m] [name_m]Moore[/name_m].

[name_m]Enzo[/name_m] [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] is lovely!

I like [name_m]Dawson[/name_m] [name_m]Moore[/name_m] and [name_m]Enzo[/name_m] [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] best

I really like [name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Powell[/name_m] and [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. They’re all fabulous choices though.

Definitely [name_m]Paul[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m]! I love [name_m]Paul[/name_m] and it’s so under-the-radar. Distant second would be [name_m]Timothy[/name_m].
