[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]: I prefer the spelling [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], but both are wonderful. I love that there are so many nicknames that could potentially come from it (I’m thinking [name_f]Maddy[/name_f], [name_f]Lena[/name_f]/[name_f]Lina[/name_f], [name_f]Delia[/name_f], [name_u]Del[/name_u], etc.)
[name_f]Antonia[/name_f]: This one feels a bit too masculine and rusty to me; the ‘a’ at the end feels kind of added.
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]: A nice name, but far too common for my taste. I prefer longer versions of the name, especially for boys (like [name_m]Emmanuel[/name_m], [name_m]Emmerich[/name_m]).
[name_u]Alexis[/name_u]: For me, this one is associated with mean girls, so I’d never use it, but it has nicknames of both [name_f]Ally[/name_f] and [name_u]Lexi[/name_u].
[name_f]Alicia[/name_f]: I don’t like this one very much. It reminds me of onions for some reason, and I don’t like the ‘ia’.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]: Ooh, this one is nice. So many nicknames ([name_f]Amy[/name_f], [name_u]Mel[/name_u], [name_f]Lia[/name_f]), and a soft but grounded, fresh but vintage sound.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]: This one is nice, though perhaps a bit common. I love it as a way to get to [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], which I adore as a girls’ nickname but would never use by itself.
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]: I like this one a lot. It reminds me of butterflies. However, I hate [name_f]Khloe[/name_f]. It feels weird and made-up.
[name_u]Courtney[/name_u]: Like [name_u]Alexis[/name_u], this one rings mean girl to me.
[name_f]Destiny[/name_f]: It has a nice sound, but I worry that the kid couldn’t find a nice nickname if they wanted it. Maybe it would be best off as a middle name, or with a very normal middle name.
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]: I like this better than [name_f]Emily[/name_f], and it’s a lovely way to get to [name_f]Emma[/name_f] or [name_f]Em[/name_f], though it is becoming increasingly common.
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]: I don’t like this one very much, mainly because of the “ev” or “eev” sound, which I’ve noticed I don’t like in girls names. [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is kind of cute though.
[name_f]Everleigh[/name_f]: I love this one! It feels kind of mysterious and story-like to me, but not made-up.
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]: I find this one to be too much of a middle name name, and I tend to prefer longer names with nicknames like this, though I’m not sure there is one for [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. Is Graceline a name?
[name_u]Haley[/name_u]: I prefer [name_f]Hailey[/name_f]; this one feels like it’s missing something to me.
[name_f]Heather[/name_f]: I love the breezy sound of heather, as well as the flower.
[name_u]Kelsey[/name_u]: No.
[name_f]Lucie[/name_f]: I would prefer to have a longer name with this nickname, as it may be hard to wear this name as an adult. Also, I like “[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]” better.
[name_u]Madison[/name_u]: It’s okay, I suppose.
[name_f]Melanie[/name_f]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!
[name_f]Sienna[/name_f]: I’ve known a dog named [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] for many years, so this one doesn’t really work for me…
[name_f]Trinity[/name_f]: This one feels distastefully religious.
