Thoughts on my girl list?

Months ago, I was on here constantly! But then life came along and I stopped naming, if you can call it that Anyway, I’m back! And it feels good (:

So here is a list of names I like, and I was just looking for some honest opinions. I’m not pregnant or anything, I just really like names!

[name]Mailys[/name] ([name]Mai[/name]-lees)

Any other suggestions are welcome too! I just created this list so I’d love to add to it!

Thanks (:

[name]Lovely[/name] list!

[name]Susannah[/name] - I’m really really starting to love [name]Susannah[/name]. It’s very pretty.
[name]Adela[/name]/[name]Adele[/name] - I much prefer [name]Adela[/name] to [name]Adele[/name]. It’s growing on me, though.
[name]June[/name] - Probably my favourite month name (aside from [name]August[/name]). Very pretty!
[name]Posy[/name] - Like it as a nn for [name]Josephine[/name]. Sweet.
[name]Cerys[/name] - I always see ‘Cherrys’ (yes, I know, not grammatically or correct spelling wise, but still) which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s OK.
[name]Annika[/name] - I love the pn An-ih-cah, but not An-eek-ah (which I think is correct), so it really depends.
[name]Summer[/name] - Meh.
[name]Anneli[/name] - I prefer [name]Anneliese[/name]. It kind of sounds like anally. It’s pretty, though, if you don’t hear it like that.
[name]Seren[/name] - [name]Seren[/name] was probably the first name I ever really loved. I can’t even remember where I first heard it, but its just gorgeous!
[name]Helena[/name] - I’ve heard this pronounced hel-ay-nah and hel-en-ah. I prefer the second one, but they’re both lovely.
[name]Mailys[/name] ([name]Mai[/name]-lees) - There’s a fish and chip shop in my town called Maili’s (same pn). Kind of ruined it for me
[name]Mara[/name] - I prefer [name]Mira[/name]. It’s lovely though.
[name]Annora[/name] - Sweet. I think I like the spelling [name]Honora[/name] better.
[name]Beatrix[/name] - I adore [name]Beatrix[/name]. It’s beautiful and sounds very fun and fresh.

Well, Bounceparty, your list is the first for me! I actually like all of your names to varying degrees  . Here are my thoughts. I hope you get to use some of these names someday in the future. Regards, [name]Mischa[/name].
[name]Susannah[/name] - A lovely Biblical name that is rarely chosen. [name]Love[/name] it!
[name]Adela[/name]/[name]Adele[/name] - Sweet and romantic
[name]June[/name] - Short, simple and sweet! Sometimes less is more. I love [name]Juno[/name] too!
[name]Posy[/name] - Cute but I don’t know if I can imagine a grown woman with this name. I would use it as a nn for [name]Josephine[/name] or even [name]Portia[/name] or [name]Pomona[/name]. When I think of this name, it brings me back to my childhood. On special Sundays, we would fry dough clumps until they were golden brown and then slather them with butter. They were called “posies”. [name]Ah[/name], those were the days when calories and clogged arteries were unknown entities!
[name]Cerys[/name] - Pretty Welsh name
[name]Annika[/name] - Scandinavian beauty
[name]Summer[/name] - Soft, feminine and kind of hippy-quirky!
[name]Anneli[/name] - This is nice but I prefer spelled [name]Annelie[/name] or [name]Anneliese[/name].
[name]Seren[/name] - An underused Welsh name
[name]Helena[/name] - Gorgeous and timeless classic with an equally fetching nn [name]Lena[/name].
[name]Mailys[/name] ([name]Mai[/name]-lees) - I’ve only seen this spelled [name]Maelys[/name]. Soft sounding and romantic
[name]Mara[/name] - Unusual and elegant Biblical name.
[name]Annora[/name] - Lyrical and mythological
[name]Beatrix[/name] - A classic and spunky name with a literary association.

Thanks for all your great opinions!

I think [name]Anneli[/name] and [name]Posy[/name] are off the list. [name]Posy[/name] is just too cutsie for a grown up, and I’m not a huge fan of [name]Josephine[/name]. [name]Anneli[/name] is just not doing it for me…

And [name]Mischa[/name], thanks for the suggestion of [name]Juno[/name]! I like it!

[name]Just[/name] thinking up some combos…

[name]Mara[/name] [name]Seren[/name] - too many Rs?
[name]Susannah[/name] [name]June[/name] - I really like the nickname [name]Sosie[/name]!
[name]Juno[/name] [name]Seren[/name]
[name]Helena[/name] ([name]Ah[/name]-lehn-uh) [name]Maelys[/name] - too many Ls?
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]June[/name]

[name]Welcome[/name] back!(:

I love [name]Annora[/name], [name]Beatrix[/name] and [name]Susannah[/name] from your list.

From your combo list, I love [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]June[/name]. Here are some combo suggestions

[name]Susannah[/name] [name]Maelys[/name]
[name]Helena[/name] [name]Juno[/name]
[name]Seren[/name] [name]Junia[/name] (Biblical name)
[name]Mara[/name] [name]June[/name]

Thoughts on your list:

[name]Susannah[/name]- Seems to be a favorite here, but it’s a bit boring to me. It’s better than [name]Susan[/name]/[name]Suzanne[/name]/[name]Sue[/name]- but still does nothing for me.
[name]Adela[/name]/[name]Adele[/name]- NMS. Reminds me of the singer of course. I would be worried about popularity, if that matters to you.
[name]June[/name]- not a fan of month names in general, just not as interesting as most of your other names.
[name]Posy[/name] -very cute, but middle name only.
[name]Cerys[/name] -very pretty has a mysterious allure.
[name]Annika[/name]- I Like it, any pronunciation.
[name]Summer[/name]- a different style than your other names, more hippy and a bit unsubstantial.
[name]Anneli[/name]- dislike this one.
[name]Seren[/name]- pretty, but it makes me want to say [name]Serena[/name].
[name]Helena[/name]- [name]Lovely[/name] Classical.
[name]Mailys[/name] ([name]Mai[/name]-lees)- Nice, not my favorite, but interesting.
[name]Mara[/name]- [name]Love[/name] this. Understated and lovely.
[name]Annora[/name]- Very Pretty.
[name]Beatrix[/name]- Gorgeous, probably my favorite.

From your list, I love [name]Adele[/name], [name]Adela[/name], [name]Helena[/name], [name]Annora[/name], [name]Annika[/name], and [name]Susannah[/name]. [name]Adele[/name] and [name]Helena[/name] in particular are favorites of mine. [name]Posy[/name], [name]Cerys[/name], [name]Anneli[/name], and [name]Mailys[/name] are the only ones I actively dislike: [name]Posy[/name] because it’s ridiculous for an adult, [name]Cerys[/name] because the pronunciation is pretty ambiguous (care-iss? sair-iss?), [name]Anneli[/name] because it reminds me of anally and isn’t substantial enough, and [name]Mailys[/name] because it’s supposed to be [name]Maelys[/name], which I like. I’m also not a huge fan of [name]Summer[/name]-- it sounds dated and not very name-ish. Other names you might like:

I love [name]Susannah[/name] [name]Maelys[/name] and [name]Mara[/name] [name]June[/name]! Thanks!

Thanks! I realized the correct spelling is [name]Maelys[/name], so that replaces [name]Mailys[/name] now. Much prettier! From the list you suggested, I love [name]Ramona[/name] ([name]Romy[/name])! I also like [name]Greta[/name], but I’m not sure if the G is too hard for me… lol that’s confusing.

[name]Love[/name] the name summer!! It’s on my list as well. Another name I love is autumn. [name]Summer[/name] and autumn with the mn [name]Annabel[/name] or [name]Alice[/name] r on my list!

[name]Adela[/name]/[name]Adele[/name]–really love
[name]June[/name]–love! My daughter’s middle name.
[name]Posy[/name]–cute! would like to see a full name, though. [name]Penelope[/name]?
[name]Cerys[/name] --ok
[name]Anneli[/name]–anally…sorry. Looks pretty written.
[name]Mailys[/name] ([name]Mai[/name]-lees)–ok

[name]Susannah[/name]: a nice name!
[name]Adela[/name]/[name]Adele[/name]: I like it, but I’ve seen it around a lot recently, a trend?
[name]June[/name]: I love this for a middle name
[name]Posy[/name]: meh
[name]Cerys[/name]: I prefer it spelled [name]Carys[/name]
[name]Annika[/name]: Yay! I met a little [name]Annika[/name] and she was such a cutie!
[name]Summer[/name]: no opinion.
[name]Anneli[/name]: no
[name]Seren[/name]: no
[name]Helena[/name]: nice
[name]Mailys[/name] ([name]Mai[/name]-lees): no opinion
[name]Mara[/name]: also love
[name]Annora[/name]: no
[name]Beatrix[/name]: very nice

Of them all, I prefer [name]Mara[/name] and [name]Annika[/name], with [name]Susannah[/name], [name]Beatrix[/name] and [name]Helena[/name] tied and then [name]June[/name] and [name]Adele[/name]. I particularly like the combination of [name]Susannah[/name] [name]Adele[/name]!

I didn’t read all of the other posts so sorry if I repeat anything! But here are my thoughts!

[name]Susannah[/name] - I absolutely love [name]Susannah[/name]. I think it’s charming and adorable. My favorite nickname is [name]Annie[/name].
[name]Adela[/name]/[name]Adele[/name] - I prefer [name]Adele[/name]. I really like [name]Adele[/name]. I think it’s lovely. Definitely on my list.
[name]June[/name] - One of my absolute favorite names of all time. Simple and elegant yet charming and spunky.
[name]Posy[/name] - Not my favorite. I think of ‘poser’.
[name]Cerys[/name] - I know it’s pronounced like “[name]Karris[/name]” (rhyming with [name]Paris[/name]), but all I see is [name]Ceres[/name]. (Like the Greek [name]Goddess[/name].) Either way I’m not a fan.
[name]Annika[/name] - Cute
[name]Summer[/name] - I used to hate it, but it’s growing on me. I don’t think I’d use it though.
[name]Anneli[/name] - looks like it would be a type of pasta.
[name]Seren[/name] - I feel like you forgot the ‘a’ - [name]Serena[/name], although I know this is not the case. I’m not sure how to pronounce this, so I don’t really have an opinion. I don’t like [name]Serena[/name], though.
[name]Helena[/name] - [name]Helen[/name]-uh or Hel-ay-na? I’m not a big fan of either.
[name]Mailys[/name] ([name]Mai[/name]-lees) - I like it
[name]Mara[/name] - Better than [name]Sara/name, [name]Tara[/name], C/[name]Kara[/name] to me.
[name]Annora[/name] - I prefer [name]Honora[/name].
[name]Beatrix[/name] - [name]Lovely[/name].

You asked for suggestions, and you have a lot of names that are on my own list, so I’ll just give you that

[name]Cecilia[/name] “[name]Celia[/name]”
[name]Charlotte[/name] ”[name]Lottie[/name]”
[name]Evangeline[/name] ”[name]Evie[/name]"
[name]Josephine[/name] “[name]Josie[/name]”
[name]Rosamund[/name] ”[name]Rosie[/name]”

I hope I helped

I love [name]Annika[/name], [name]Annora[/name] and [name]Helena[/name] as first names, and I like [name]Summer[/name], [name]Seren[/name], and [name]Beatrix[/name] as middle names.
