Thoughts on my top names?

Please be as honest as you like.

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] (or just [name_f]Bella[/name_f])
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] i[/i]
[name_f]Lyla[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] (IH-muh-[name_f]gin[/name_f], gin like the spirit)
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]

Thank you… They need middle names too. I have a list of hopeful middle names but nothing is set in stone.

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] - great name - a little bit quirkier than some of your options here, but it has a nice kind of flowing quality to me.

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] - beautiful classic name.

[name_f]Arabella[/name_f]/[name_f]Bella[/name_f] - I’d go for [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] rather than just [name_f]Bella[/name_f]. I didn’t like [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] so well until [name_f]Ivanka[/name_f] Trump and [name_m]Jared[/name_m] Kushner used it on their daughter, and that somehow brought it down to [name_f]Earth[/name_f] for me in a way. I think with a suitable surname, [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] can be great. [name_f]Bella[/name_f] seems a little insubstantial on its own since there are so many longer names that can get you to it ([name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]/a, [name_f]Arabelle[/name_f]/a, in a pinch [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]/a).

[name_f]Elena[/name_f] - love it.

[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - this has grown on me. It seems versatile and lively.

[name_f]Grace[/name_f] - Pretty, though I have a policy against using virtue names as first names (a clumsy child named [name_f]Grace[/name_f] seems like adding insult to injury). Although I know it gets used as a middle name a lot, I personally would save it for there.

[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - Are you stressing the last syllable? I say it IM-uh-jin and I don’t know if you’re saying it that way or im-uh-[name_f]JIN[/name_f]. Anyway, I quite like IM-uh-jin - it seems a little quirky and off the beaten track to me, although I understand it’s really popular in [name_m]Britain[/name_m].

[name_f]Lily[/name_f] - love, despite its popularity. (This is how I feel about a fair number of the very popular names right now - like yes, being [name_f]Lily[/name_f] C. might sometimes be a drag, but the name [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is so pretty that it’s probably worth it.)

[name_f]Lyla[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and don’t really like the [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] spelling. At the risk of offending, [name_f]Lila[/name_f] to be is sweet, vintage-y and strong, while [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] is kind of stripper-y. I have no solid basis for this, it’s just my knee-jerk reaction.

Thank you!! I didn’t mean to (and have no idea why I did) capitalise the ā€˜gin/jin’ and not the ā€˜ih’, so I’ve edited that! I was uncertain on where to put [name_f]Grace[/name_f] but I totally agree with you and the ā€˜insult to injury’ part if the girl called [name_f]Grace[/name_f] wasn’t so graceful. The ā€˜y’ in [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] is a family thing due to me and my sisters having ā€˜y’ in our name, I have heard the stripper comments a lot and don’t disagree with you to some extent there, but I do slightly lean towards the [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] spelling than [name_f]Lila[/name_f]… Maybe it’s the Oasis song that does it for me!

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] - [name_f]My[/name_f] mind wanders and I picture lemonade instantly when I hear this name. It’s nice, I just would never have the guts to use it myself, haha.
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] (or just [name_f]Bella[/name_f]) - It’s a bit of a mouthful to say out loud for me. It’s not my kind of name, although I don’t think it’s bad.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] - It’s a very pretty name, and also a palindrome. However it’s way too common for my taste, in the age I’ve grown up in, there’s at least two to three [name_f]Anna[/name_f]'s per room I’m in. But don’t get me wrong, it’s very quaint and cute.
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] - I have [name_f]Helena[/name_f] on my list, and it’s the same pronunciation as [name_f]Elena[/name_f] on yours but with a soft ā€˜h’ sound in front. I really like it. It’s very feminine and sweet.
[name_f]Lyla[/name_f] - I love the sound, but I prefer [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] or [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] to [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] any day.
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] - It’s a gorgeous name, just… again, way too common for me.
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] - Very, very beautiful, I adore it. But it’s very popular and seems to be used a lot now. Maybe [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], or [name_f]Liliana[/name_f]…?
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - I’ve never been a fan of this name. I’m prone to speech impediments, I’m Swedish but I wasn’t born in [name_u]Sweden[/name_u], yet I still have a horrible tendency to butcher words when I speak. I trip over my own tongue a lot, so to speak. So when I say [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] out loud it comes out as ā€œ[name_f]Imagine[/name_f]ā€ a lot. Not that that’s a bad thing, it’s a good word to have a name sound like… Anyway, I’m rambling. I’m just trying to say that it is not my taste personally, and it’s a bit of a mouthful to say- it sounds like a mumble to me.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - GORGEOUS, uncommon, unique, feminine, dainty, beautiful. I have this one on my list as well.

Please be as honest as you like.

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]- pretty and strong sounding
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f]- [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is pretty but a bit too frilly for me, I’m not a fan of [name_f]Bella[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]- pretty
[name_f]Elena[/name_f]- beautiful, one of my favorites. I think it is so romantic
[name_f]Lyla[/name_f]- cute but prefer the [name_f]Lila[/name_f] spelling
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]- its ok
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]- its ok
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]- I’m not a fan
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]- pretty and somewhat spunky, would make a great sister name for [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]: I love the nickname [name_f]Addie[/name_f], but I don’t like the name [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] doesn’t flow as well as some of the others on your list.

[name_f]Arabella[/name_f]: I like this! [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and its variations are gaining in popularity, & [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is a nice change.

[name_f]Anna[/name_f]: I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] this name! It’s classic, lovely & ages well.

[name_f]Elena[/name_f]: I love this name, and I love this spelling. I think it will age well, too.

[name_f]Lyla[/name_f]: I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_f]Lila[/name_f], & I think [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] is an interesting twist. I definitely prefer [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] to [name_f]Lilah[/name_f].

[name_f]Grace[/name_f]: [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is beautiful, but I like it as a middle name (only because I haven’t found a middle name I like for the first name [name_f]Grace[/name_f]…yet).

[name_f]Lily[/name_f]: I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_f]Lily[/name_f]! It’s so cute for a little girl!

[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]: I like [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], and I think it’s a unique/different choice that isn’t too crazy or unknown/uncommon.

[name_f]Freya[/name_f]: I love names that end in an -a, but I’m not a fan of [name_f]Freya[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f]
I like [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
Not that fond of [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f], [name_f]Lyla[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (mostly b/c I’m a bit tired of how much they are used)

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] - I like the sound of this name, but I would choose variant [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] over it.

[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] (or just [name_f]Bella[/name_f]) - I don’t really like this name. . . . It seems like I’m hearing it more and more these days especially after the [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]/[name_f]Bella[/name_f] trend. It does however have the nicknames [name_u]Ari[/name_u] and [name_u]Ara[/name_u] available which are popular sounding like [name_f]Arielle[/name_f] and [name_f]Ariana[/name_f].

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] - This name is pretty sounding with the nicknames [name_f]Ann[/name_f]/[name_f]Annie[/name_f] available. I would choose it over [name_f]Hannah[/name_f].

[name_f]Elena[/name_f] - (elle-AY-nuh) I love this name. It has the popular ā€œ[name_f]El[/name_f]ā€ beginning like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and can be nicknamed [name_f]Lena[/name_f] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].

[name_f]Lyla[/name_f] - I prefer the spelling [name_f]Lila[/name_f] of this name, but I like the sound of it. Sadly, it doesn’t have much nicknames.

[name_f]Grace[/name_f] - Would consider this for a name if it wasn’t so common right now. Not many nicknames available besides [name_f]Gracie[/name_f].

[name_f]Lily[/name_f] - [name_f]Lilies[/name_f] are my favorite flower, so I like this name. Doesn’t have much nicknames besides maybe [name_f]Lia[/name_f] or [name_f]Lil[/name_f]? It’s very popular as well right now so I would avoid it.

[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] (IH-muh-gin, gin like the spirit) - [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t really like this name. It does have the option of going by [name_f]Gen[/name_f]/[name_f]Genny[/name_f] though, but I don’t like the spelling or sound of this name really.

[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - I don’t hear this name that much, but it’s really pretty and kind of old fashioned sounding. And you could nickname as [name_m]Frey[/name_m]? I really like this name better than [name_f]Faye[/name_f]. Definitely my favorite on your list. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

As a middle name to go with it, I would choose:

[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Gardenia[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_u]Julianne[/name_u]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lorie[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Nancy[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Valentina[/name_f]

Best of luck choosing a name.

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]- Pretty! A very underused classic name
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] (or just [name_f]Bella[/name_f])- I’m not a fan of any of the [name_f]Bella[/name_f] names. However, I like this more than [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]. [name_u]Arie[/name_u] would be a cute nickname.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]- Gorgeous! This has always been one of my favorite names. So sweet and simple.
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] (elle-AY-nuh)- Another gorgeous one! There may be pronunciations though. I, too, prefer elle-AY-nuh. So pretty.
[name_f]Lyla[/name_f]- I love this name, but prefer the [name_f]Lila[/name_f] spelling. Would be a great alternative to [name_f]Lily[/name_f].
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]- It’s refreshing to see this in the first name spot. I wouldn’t worry too much about having a clumsy child named [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. A friend of mine has a daughter named [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and she’s a total klutz and a tomboy, but she loves her name. It still fits her well.
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]- [name_f]Adore[/name_f] this name despite it’s popularity.
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] (IH-muh-gin, gin like the spirit)- [name_f]My[/name_f] least favorite of your list. I’ve never cared for this name.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]- Beautiful! I have never met a little [name_f]Freya[/name_f], but I would love to. This name is so underused.

[name_f]Lyla[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] are a bit frilly and babyish, but the rest are all wonderful!!!

Thank you all!
