[name]Just[/name] wondering everyone’s thoughts we are pregnant with baby no 1 if it is a girl we really like this name.
Part of me wonders if it is too out there but working in childcare for the past ten years I am a bit bored of traditional and old style names as they are extremely popular and fashionable here where we live ([name]England[/name] , UK).
Is [name]Caia[/name] a nice name for a baby girl? What middles names go with [name]Caia[/name]?
I think the [name]Caia[/name] spelling is much prettier than [name]Kaia[/name]. It’s a trendy name in [name]North[/name] [name]America[/name] but maybe not in [name]England[/name] (although [name]Wayne[/name] [name]Rooney[/name] has a son [name]Kai[/name]). [name]Caia[/name] is an ancient [name]Roman[/name] name and female version of [name]Caius[/name]. I think it’s feminine and pretty. I would use a longer name in the middle spot (three or more syllables). I don’t know your suranme so I’ll just give some examples.
It’s nice, spunky, interesting and I like it. [name]Caia[/name] is not weird, many people heard of it, but they just chose different names for their kids.
This is so strange! We already thought of both : [name]Gabrielle[/name] and [name]Evangeline[/name] as middle names!
Thanks!
[name]Just[/name] wondering, curious, how popular is [name]Caia[/name] is [name]America[/name]!?
xx
I like it, though I prefer [name]Kaia[/name] spelling. I won’t say it’s too out there, I say it’s underused. [name]Caia[/name]'s pretty and unique, that’s why I adore it.
Nice name for a baby girl? Definitely. A lot of styles can go with [name]Caia[/name].
I think it’s pretty. I don’t think it’s out there at all, but I am used to seeing it spelled with a ‘k’.
[name]Caia[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Caia[/name] [name]Lillian[/name]
[name]Caia[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Caia[/name] [name]Justine[/name]
[name]Caia[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Caia[/name] [name]Simone[/name]
[name]Caia[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name]
[name]Caia[/name] [name]Jocelyn[/name]
[name]Caia[/name] [name]Faith[/name]
[name]Caia[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
I actually really like [name]Caia[/name] and I prefer the C spelling of names than the K one, like [name]Caitlin[/name] and [name]Kaitlin[/name] as I think then look more natural and not so forced. I won’t say it’s too out their just not extremely popular.
I find “K” names a bit…harsh!I know what you mean!
I love the name [name]Taylor[/name]. [name]Danielle[/name] is pretty too and I like the Biblical connection. Thanks!
I like [name]Caia[/name]. I generally prefer “C” spellings to “K” spellings, but here I definitely prefer [name]Kaia[/name]. Although they’re totally different names–[name]Kaia[/name] is a Scandinavian (I think!) form of [name]Katherine[/name], while [name]Caia[/name] is a feminine form of [name]Caius[/name]. Although either is lovely, I’ve always found myself attracted to [name]Kaia[/name] for family reasons. Either meaning is lovely, though–“pure” for [name]Kaia[/name], and “to rejoice” for [name]Caia[/name].
I’ve always loved [name]Kaia[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name], but I love the suggestion of [name]Caia[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name]–I think that’s lovely! Something along the lines of [name]Caia[/name] [name]Felicity[/name] or [name]Caia[/name] [name]Juniper[/name] would be lovely, too.
The sound kai-uh has several different spellings and origins.
[name]Caia[/name] is Latin and means ‘to rejoice’;
[name]Kaya[/name] is a Native American name meaning ‘my elder sister’;
[name]Kaia[/name] comes from several different places: it’s a feminine of [name]Kai[/name], meaning ‘sea’, a Norwegian nickname for [name]Katherine[/name], a Greek name meaning ‘earth’
[name]Kaiya[/name], although it looks made up and trendy, is a Japanese name meaning forgiveness.
Although visually I find [name]Kaiya[/name] more appealing, in the US it would often be seen as a kry8tive spelling. [name]Caia[/name] and [name]Kaia[/name] are both pretty, and I love them both.
[name]Caia[/name] is pretty and spunky! I like how it feels familiar but is very unique. I definitely prefer [name]Kaia[/name] because I’m more used to it.
[name]Caia[/name] is gorgeous! I tend to like names that end in the ‘aya’ sound-- very feminine and strong. I live in the US and I’ve never encountered a [name]Kaya[/name]/[name]Kaia[/name]/[name]Caia[/name]. I’d love to see it used.
To answer the question of popularity in the US, it was ranked 183 on the NameNerds combined spellings list for 2011. That seems kinda high compared to the #605 rank for the spelling [name]Kaia[/name] (which is the most popular spelling currently, [name]Caia[/name] was only given to 30 girls in 2011) on the SSA list, but when you take into account that there are 26 spellings listed (3 of which made the top 1000 on the SSA list) and the name was given to a total of 2061 girls it kinda makes sense.
I have a daughter named [name]Kaia[/name] and I’ve met a couple others of various ages (with different spellings), so it’s still not overly common, but I wouldn’t say it’s too “out there” either. I love it.
