Thoughts on names and help with middle names

Husband and I are expecting a baby girl (we just found out!). He’s Italian (that’s where we met), and I have family from [name_f]Sicily[/name_f]. We were thinking of doing Italian names. Our last name is Gagliardi. We have a list, but we aren’t sure about them, and we aren’t sure about middle names.

We were thinking:
[name_f]Adelina[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Della[/name_f])
[name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Alessa[/name_f])
[name_f]Amalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Lia[/name_f])
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Livia[/name_f]/Liviana
Marinella (nn [name_f]Ella[/name_f])
Vitalia (nn [name_f]Talia[/name_f], [name_f]Lia[/name_f])

Our hope is that these names can be used in [name_u]America[/name_u] and [name_f]Italy[/name_f]. Help with middle names would be so great as well! Thanks.

I love [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]! That is my pick, it’s beautiful and works well in many languages. I am a huge fan of middle names having special meaning, either honoring a loved family member or friend, or after a favorite flower or color or something. I like the story behind why it was chosen so I would suggest looking at your family tree or thinking of other things that are important to you and your husband and finding a middle connected with that.

My favourites are [name_f]Adelina[/name_f], [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f], and [name_f]Livia[/name_f]! [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] is pretty, but might be mistaken for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] in the US. [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] is familiar, but I personally don’t feel it’s as stunning as your other choices. [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], Liviana, Marinella, and Vitalia all sound very foreign and unfamiliar, but I think with all of the nicknames you have picked out they could be easily accessible if you wanted to use them.
