Thoughts on Nephele?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! [name_f]My[/name_f] friend recently dared me to write a [name_u]Harry[/name_u] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] fan fiction. The story will be about [name_m]Draco[/name_m] Malfoy’s long lost younger sister.

I want to make her name fit with the rest of the Malfoy family. Her mom is [name_f]Narcissa[/name_f] (related to greek mythology), her father is of course [name_m]Lucius[/name_m], and [name_m]Draco[/name_m] is named after a constellation. Keeping that in mind, i found the name [name_f]Nephele[/name_f] (nef-uh-lee) which i like a lot and is from mythology. Thoughts on this? Any other names you think might fit better in the Malfoy family?

In the book she chooses to go by a different name in her third year. If her name is [name_f]Nephele[/name_f], I’m thinking she will probably go by [name_f]Nele[/name_f] for this (nel-ee). Thoughts? Any other names that would work better?

I also havent come up with a middle name for her yet. Draco’s middle name is [name_m]Lucius[/name_m], so it would make sense if Nephele’s was [name_f]Narcissa[/name_f]. Would [name_f]Nephele[/name_f] [name_f]Narcissa[/name_f] Malfoy work? If not, what else could you see the Malfoys naming their daughter?

Any thiughts or ideas I would appreciate.

Ooh, [name_f]Nephele[/name_f] is an awesome Malfoy-esque name! How did I never think of this one… eh, whatever.

[name_f]Nephele[/name_f] [name_f]Narcissa[/name_f] Malfoy kinda flows, so honestly, I think you’re fine there. And how often would anyone even be saying her full name? Alternatively, you could use [name_f]Bellatrix[/name_f] or [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f], since they are Narcissa’s sisters, or maybe [name_f]Druella[/name_f], which is their mother and thus Nephele’s grandmother, if you don’t like the alliteration.

When you say ‘going by a different name’, though, do you mean a nickname or something else? [name_f]Nele[/name_f] makes sense for the former, I think, or potentially you could use something like [name_f]Effie[/name_f] at a stretch…? I don’t know, [name_f]Nephele[/name_f] is quite a funny name for nicknames. If you don’t mean a nickname… well, I’m not going to get into ideas for that without knowing whether that’s what you want, because I’ll be sat here all night.

I think [name_f]Nephele[/name_f] Malfoy definitely works! I like the double ‘f’ sound being there but not too noticeable. I think for a middle name, the previously suggested [name_f]Druella[/name_f] is really pretty in my opinion, and [name_f]Narcissa[/name_f] also works (and couldn’t it be considered ever-so-slightly narcissistic to name your child after yourself?).
