My husband and I have fallen head over heels in love with the name [name_f]Opal[/name_f]! It just feels perfect and I get giddy just thinking about the name and imagining one of our little baby girls with the name! It has, in my opinion, a nice mix of whimsical and vintage and just screams perfect to me!
Whilst we do still love [name_f]Calliope[/name_f], we do feel that if we went with [name_f]Opal[/name_f] that [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] wouldn’t be an option because it doesn’t feel or sound right to us. Also, my husband pointed out that [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] (our son’s name) and [name_f]Opal[/name_f] are both precious gems (or rocks) which I think is quite sweet.
I would love to hear people’s thoughts, good or bad, on the name [name_f]Opal[/name_f] and what would you pair with it as a twin girl name?
I love [name_f]Opal[/name_f]! It’s so sweet and charming, and the mix of having [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_f]Opal[/name_f] is so sweet I agree that [name_f]Opal[/name_f] [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] is a bit of a mouthful, but honestly doesn’t sound too bad to me!
Here’s a little list of what I think sounds good with [name_f]Opal[/name_f]!
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] is so sweet! I agree with you, I love how the sound and feel sounds full of whimsy but still vintage. [name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] sound lovely together!
I think you could use [name_f]Opal[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Calliope[/name_f], actually. And [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] from your signature. ^^
I love [name_f]Opal[/name_f], but with [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] I would feel pressed to find another gemstone name for the other twin. I would not use two gemstone names and one ‘other’ for my three children. If the gem-kids were the twins, maybe, but not like this.
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] would make an awesome twin-set with brother [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], or maybe [name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] or [name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_f]Garnet[/name_f]?
I also like [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] nn [name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Goldie[/name_f] for twin girls. It follows the theme without being overly matchy. ([name_f]Goldie[/name_f] is from [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]'s meaning)
I’m a big fan of [name_f]Opal[/name_f]! Though I love [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] more, [name_f]Opal[/name_f] is just as sweet and it goes quite well with [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. And I love how much you two love it!
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_f]Thisbe[/name_f]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_f]Liza[/name_f]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_f]Jade[/name_f]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_f]Aria[/name_f]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_f]Bijou[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Opal[/name_f]! Like you said it gives me a whimsical and vintage vibe (more whimsical than vintage for me).
As for a twin I’d personally use another word name. Maybe something like [name_u]Story[/name_u], [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_f]Lilac[/name_f], [name_f]Lavender[/name_f], [name_f]Fawn[/name_f], [name_f]Whimsy[/name_f], or [name_f]Snow[/name_f]?
