Hey, Berries!
I follow a baby name expert on YouTube, SJ Strum. (Anyone else watch her?) In her latest video, she shared the name Oslo. I knew about the place in Norway, but I had never considered it as a name before, and it took me by surprise!
So. What do you think of it?
I somewhat recently saw this name on thenamementor’s instagram. I fell in love with the sound and the spelling is fantastic. I thought it might be a good option for us because my husband likes names that connect to his heritage/ancestry and this is one of the ones that would work in an English-speaking country. I got a bit ahead of myself because my husband wasn’t a fan, though he told me we can use it for a pet…

I think it’s kinda cool! Fits in with the trendy -o ending sound of [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_m]Enzo[/name_m], and loans itself to the nickname [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m]. Feels like a brother to [name_m]Otto[/name_m].

I think it’s really cool! Has some great potential imo. [name_f]My[/name_f] only hesitation would be the possible assumptions that an [name_m]Oslo[/name_m] is from Norway or something, but I guess Americans are naming their daughters [name_u]London[/name_u] so it shouldn’t be much of an issue. I love Oslo’s potential nicknames and on-trend sounds, as mentioned above.

i’m not someone who is a fan of place names and so that puts me off, but I like the sound. I do however find the girls’ name [name_f]Osla[/name_f] super cute!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] SJ Strum! She has given me a lot of fun ideas I never would have considered before, like [name_f]Evelina[/name_f].
I like [name_m]Oslo[/name_m]. It reminds me of [name_m]Otto[/name_m], but a more fun and modern take on it.

[name_m]Oslo[/name_m] is super cute, and [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m] is a great nn.
I’ve also seen people use the name, if they’re star wars fans because the letters could spell out [name_u]Solo[/name_u].

I like it a lot! I tend to be very drawn to O names, and I also love boy names ending in -o, so this is definitely a name for me.
I think it’s sweet and handsome, and unique, but still easy to say and spell.

I think it sounds super cool! It’s not one I would personally consider but I absolutely see the charm that others see in it!

I like it as a name for a city but not really as a name for a person.
I would actually assume that someone named Oslo is not from Norway.
