I’ve been hesitant to ask you all because I usually tell others to always choose in the end what YOU love and not what others think…LOL. But I’m currently stuck at 29 weeks with my new baby girl on the way and wanted to see what others thought. I don’t share names with anyone in real life for unwarranted opinions. Here is safer and you all are wonderful!
I’ve not been able to commit to any one name just yet, but have it kind of narrowed down. I’ll list the others that were also in my top and you can give your opinions there too, if you’d like. We are set on [name_f]Nova[/name_f] as a middle name. While i don’t think it goes so well with all first names, my fiance is determined to make his mark on his child and he wants [name_f]Nova[/name_f] as the middle name :).
My son is [name_u]Michael[/name_u] [name_m]Scott[/name_m] (named [name_u]Michael[/name_u] after his dad and [name_m]Scott[/name_m] after his grandpa…so no real stylistic choice for me on him). My daughters are [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and Alora Lynae. So our current top four choices (with my fiance leaning toward either of the first two listed) are:
Also were on my top list (and realizing [name_f]Nova[/name_f] doesn’t sound good with all) and am not quite ready to let them go in no particular order are:
My favourites are [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], they’re so pretty. If you’re wanting less common than I’d go with [name_f]Elowen[/name_f].
Because of your other daughters names I probably wouldn’t use [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] or [name_f]Aurelie[/name_f]
From your first list, [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is my favourite. The rest share an “E” initial with [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. From your second list, I think [name_f]Verity[/name_f] is the one that stands out the most. [name_f]Verity[/name_f] give your third daughter her own initial as well as a different ending than the others. Good luck and let us know what you decide by posting on the Birth Announcement forum.
My favorites are [name_u]Everly[/name_u], so pretty and fits nicely with your other daughters names. Also really like [name_f]Aurelie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]
I love, love, love [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Nova[/name_f]! [name_f]Verity[/name_f] is my second choice. It has a nice meaning like [name_u]Eden[/name_u], and it’s musical sounding like Alora. [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is a distant 3rd because of how trendy it is.
Alora and [name_f]Aurelie[/name_f] are similar. [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f] are also similar enough written down that Alora looks like the odd one out. So I would eliminate [name_f]Aurelie[/name_f] and [name_u]Esme[/name_u].
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] shares similarities with Alora (both begin with vowel+lo, and have the same letter to start and end), and also with [name_u]Eden[/name_u] (starts with E, prominent D, has a double E). [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] are too similar, imo, but [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] also bridges [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and Alora. So if you want a string of close names [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is good. If you want the names to stand more distinctly apart, then eliminate [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] (that’s what I would do). [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], though it works like a bridge, too, sounds a bit “mushy” with [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and Alora. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is a great bridge, but it’s so trendy now.
[name_f]Millie[/name_f] isn’t nearly as dignified as [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and Alora. But it’s very cute. [name_f]Remember[/name_f] it’s becoming trendier, and it isn’t unique like Alora, but sounds common. If you chose [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], you could call her [name_f]Tillie[/name_f] as well.
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] doesn’t seem to fit smoothly with Alora and [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. Another 4-syllable name you might consider is [name_f]Felicity[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Esme[/name_f] and although the flow of [name_f]Esme[/name_f] [name_f]Nova[/name_f] may not be perfect, it is fine. My second choice would be [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Nova[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Nova[/name_f], and think it’s your best pick by a lot. I pay more attention to sibling names than most people probably would, but it would bother me a little that your other picks share a first initial with [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. I also think [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and Alora sound kind of similar? Plus, [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Nova[/name_f] just sounds so beautiful!
I really like [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Nova[/name_f]. I think it goes nicely with your other children’s names and it’s a top pick for DH. [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Nova[/name_f] sounds pretty but [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] starts and ends the same way as [name_u]Eden[/name_u] so I don’t think it goes nearly as well as [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and [name_u]Everly[/name_u] are also nice but I think that [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is soft and sweet and has that added plus of DH loving. I know that when my hubby gets excited about a name I love it that much more so I feel like that’s important unless you truly do not like [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. Plus you could call her cute [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]! [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps
Thank you all for the opinions!!! It has helped a lot to see everyone’s interpretation! I appreciate it so much! I’ll let everyone know what we end up deciding!
