I have a baby due in just over 4 weeks and we have a few names picked out just wondered what your thoughts are, we don’t know sex of baby so had to pick for both
Girl:
[name_f]Trixie[/name_f] I just love it sounds so cute n cheeky n oh agreed to it so that name is a defo
Boys:
[name_m]Locke[/name_m]: I hated this at first when oh suggested it years ago n wouldn’t budge so uv grew to love it what are your thoughts?
[name_m]Brodie[/name_m]: I like it but don’t love it
[name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]: I liked this for a girl before I fell in love with [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] and now oh prefers [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] to [name_m]Locke[/name_m] and I just don’t know I think I prefer [name_m]Locke[/name_m] now
What are your thoughts mainly towards [name_m]Locke[/name_m] or [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] xx
[name_f]Trixie[/name_f] is cute, I can’t help thinking it won’t age well with your child, but if you love then that’s all that really matters
[name_m]Locke[/name_m] is sweet, I prefer it for a mn but I don’t mind it as a fn
[name_m]Brodie[/name_m] is nice, I feel like it’s been used to death though :S
[name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] is probably my favourite from your list - it’s strong but soft at the same time, it’s unusual without being ridiculous, and it’s a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine
I love [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] (only for a boy)! But I also love [name_f]Trixie[/name_f], though together they’d be way too matchy (I have the same problem with [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] & [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]). [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] would probably get my vote. I quite like [name_m]Locke[/name_m] because it reminds me of [name_m]Sherlock[/name_m]. But I prefer [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m], as a pp suggested.
I [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] as just [name_f]Trixie[/name_f], I would not ever call her [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] so don’t see point in using it on a birth certificate same as [name_m]Locke[/name_m] n [name_m]Lochlan[/name_m] - But I do see where your coming from I did think of doing that but then thought well I don’t like [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] or [name_m]Lochlan[/name_m] lol.
I [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] and it would be [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] ([name_u]Michael[/name_u] is after me I am a [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] named after my Grandad who was a [name_u]Michael[/name_u], its my dads middle name, its also my partners Grandads name and is his step dads name) and [name_m]John[/name_m] is after my OH
I question [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] because people say its not a name that will age well when there older on a CV they cant imagine it on an older person but I think you could say that about alot of names and once you name it someone and its there name you get used to it and cant imagine them being called anything else or am I the only one who thinks that lol?
Same if it was [name_m]Locke[/name_m] or [name_m]Brodie[/name_m] middle names would be the same…
If I have a little girl her name would be [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] ([name_f]May[/name_f] is after my great nan who passed away a week after I found out I was pregnant)
[name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] is lovely, and the middle names clearly have a lot of meaning to you. The middle names also work well with [name_m]Brodie[/name_m], but I don’t think they sound right with [name_m]Locke[/name_m].
I don’t think a child named [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] would have too many problems growing up - it’s a lot more acceptable nowadays to have unique or offbeat names (plus there are stranger names than [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]). Back many years ago when almost everyone was named [name_f]Mary[/name_f] or [name_m]John[/name_m] it would seem crazy (as many names we now consider normal would have seemed), but with so many thousands of names out there I think little [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] would love the fact his name is quite unique. And if he doesn’t - he has two beautiful middle names he can use.
