Going through potential future girl names with my partner and these are the ones we’ve both managed to agree on. Our boys list is only about 6 names long, so a lot less interesting!

I’d love to hear your thoughts, favorites, least favorites, and any impressions/vibes you get from these names.

What a lovely list :smiling_face: Overall I get a stylish-but-approachable vibe, feminine but not too frilly or fussy, and they’re all names that would suit both a little girl and an adult.

[name_m]Not[/name_m] sure where you’re based but [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Florence[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] are all at the top end of the [name_f]England[/name_f] and [name_m]Wales[/name_m] chart so they feel familiar, but warm and friendly, to me. [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] are particularly charming imho and I like them as sisters. I know a mischievous little [name_f]Florence[/name_f] and love the nickname possibilities - [name_f]Florrie[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Flossie[/name_f], [name_f]Floss[/name_f], [name_m]Wren[/name_m]! I find [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] bit overused (but can’t deny it’s pretty). If you’re not in the UK, I’d say you have very [name_f]British[/name_f] taste!

My favourites otherwise are [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] (adore her, but can’t get my husband on board!!), [name_f]Serena[/name_f], [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], [name_f]Celine[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] - love [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], so cheerful and a little bit retro.

My least favourites are probably [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and [name_f]Elle[/name_f], they seem a bit nonspecific compared to the other options.

I also notice you’ve got top Bridgerton faves [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], which might be best avoided in the same sibset unless you are a mega fan!

I ADORE [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f]! They are both so classy and pretty to me.

Love - Daphne, Eloise, Florence, Eve & Camille

Like - Phoebe, Tallulah, Margot, Sienna, Penelope, Cecilia, Grace & Serena

Don’t mind Amelia or Celine but neither on my faves list; I don’t love their sounds. Sadie for some reason is a bit too stylised mid century cute for me.

Less keen as standalone names:

Poppy - doesn’t age well, imo, charming for kids only, would note as a possible nn for Penelope (then others when older)
Elle - again, would have as a possible Eloise nn but not on own
Lila - pretty but again would go Delilah or another longer name for it

I agree that they’re a very Brit-leaning, literary set.

[name_f]Sienna[/name_f] → stylish, warm and pretty

[name_f]Margot[/name_f] → vintage but contemporary at the same time, with a sound that leans cuddly or refined, depending on the bearer

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] → elegant but spirited

[name_f]Lila[/name_f] → bright and pleasant

[name_f]Florence[/name_f] → it’s got understated elegance and charm

[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] → cheerful, melodic and lovely

[name_f]Camille[/name_f] → gentle, stylish and pleasing to say

[name_f]Eve[/name_f] → sharp, sleek and elegant

[name_f]Celine[/name_f] → gentle and stylish with a hint of starry-ness

Least faves:

[name_f]Grace[/name_f] → a bit bland and harsh

[name_f]Serena[/name_f] → I know it means serene/tranquil but it feels the opposite when I hear it?

i love your taste in names! a lot of my own favorites are in this list :slight_smile:

i really like daphne, eloise, sienna, elle, lila, camille (though i think i like camilla a bit more!) and eve (but personally i love eva more!)

but the least favorites are just personal taste, and not because any of these names are bad names.

[name_m]The[/name_m] general vibe I get from these is feminine and vintage, but still modern sounding enough that nothing sounds like it could only be an old lady. Which is a vibe I like. :blush: :rose: :womans_hat:

I’ve been sitting on this thread for two weeks waiting to be able to answer it… I’ve been so busy at work :sob::sob: [name_f]Hope[/name_f] you don’t mind me resurrecting it! Your style takes me to my happy place.

[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Serena[/name_f], and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] are my favorites. I don’t think I can say I dislike any, though I’ve never connected with [name_f]Margot[/name_f], but it is objectively a lovely name! They all feel sweet, artistic, timeless, but full of pluck. I would love to meet sweet girls with any of these names, but for today, [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Serena[/name_f] and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] are my favorites. I know some of them aren’t on your list because of your partner, but I will always miss [name_f]Tess[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Greer[/name_f], [name_f]Sloane[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], and Hadley—they all feel so you!
