Thoughts on Peregrine

Is [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] usable or is the [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings reference too strong? I’m in the US.

I’m liking [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] nn [name_u]Perry[/name_u] or [name_u]Pip[/name_u]. What would you pair as a middle name? [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] was my first thought

I think [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] is usable. I like the [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings reference but I don’t think it’s too strong. Besides LotR I think of the peregrine falcon. I’m not in the US.

The nicknames [name_u]Perry[/name_u] and [name_u]Pip[/name_u] are nice. I especially like [name_u]Pip[/name_u]. I would pair [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] as a middle name: [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_m]Lucas[/name_m].

Yes, even though I like the LOTR, my first association was the falcon. Although I might reconsider it if you disliked the LOTR and don’t want anyone to think of it or ever comment “oh cool, like the hobbit?” I’d see it as a positive.

I love Peregrine!! Such a cool name -I like the bird connotation and the meaning  I’ve never read [name_m]Lord[/name_m] od the Rings so that’s not my association.

[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] is rather charming!!!

Some that came to mind:

[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_m]Cormac[/name_m]
[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_u]Jasper[/name_u]
[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_u]Luca[/name_u]
[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_m]Cedric[/name_m]
[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_m]Silas[/name_m]
[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_u]Ezra[/name_u]

Didn’t even know the name [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] was in LotR (I’ve never seen or read it though), so association isn’t too strong for me. I’m in US

I love [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] so much! It immediately makes me think of the character (though his is spelt Peregrin), but I see it as only a positive association as he’s my favorite character :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
I love [name_u]Pip[/name_u] & [name_u]Pippin[/name_u] for nicknames myself, but I think [name_u]Perry[/name_u] and [name_u]Penn[/name_u] are cute, too!
I don’t think the lotr association is very strong for most people, because the character mostly goes by a nickname rather than his full name.
[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] is usable in my opinion, because other animal/word/nature names are popular right now!

I am in the US and this is also my opinion exactly!

I love the name [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u]. Actually the LOTR spelling doesn’t have an e on the end while the falcon does. Besides the great nature and literature references it lends itself to many cute nicknames. You could even use falcon, [name_m]Falco[/name_m] as a nickname.
[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_m]Cormac[/name_m]
[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u]
[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_m]Nigel[/name_m]
[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]
[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_f]Epiphany[/name_f]
[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_m]Bernard[/name_m]

Honestly, didn’t know there was a LOTR connection. I think it’s usable! I love it as a middle especially (longer middles are my love) but it’s usable for both. I think most peoples association would be the falcon.

[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] seems usable to me. I didn’t even remember a [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] in [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings. [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] is nice.

I think [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] is gorgeous!

Honestly such a handsome nature name that feels distinguished and strong. I personally didn’t know about LOTR connection. Completely usable especially with the nickname [name_u]Perry[/name_u]. I really like [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_m]Conrad[/name_m]. I also like the idea of [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_u]Joseph[/name_u], [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_u]Oliver[/name_u], [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_m]Abel[/name_m], [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_u]Elijah[/name_u] and [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] [name_u]Daniel[/name_u].
