Hello! I just found out I have a great grandmother on my dad’s mom’s side, [name_f]Edna[/name_f] [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]. And I do like the name [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], but worried it might be outdated, since according to SSA it was #9 in the late 90s. So an alternative would [name_f]Rachelle[/name_f] which isn’t too popular, shockingly, though I assume a lot of people would read as [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], and would always need to correct people. And I was planning on pairing [name_m]Otto[/name_m] as a mn, which is also a family name. [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] [name_m]Otto[/name_m] or [name_f]Rachelle[/name_f] [name_m]Otto[/name_m]. Thoughts?
Rachelle [name_m]Otto[/name_m] is pretty. You may like [name_f]Rochelle[/name_f]
Rachel is still used where I live. It’s youthful and fun.
I prefer [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]! It’s still one of my favourite names!! I think [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] [name_m]Otto[/name_m] is lovely!
I love the name [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]. It is such a beautiful name. [name_f]My[/name_f] name was supposed to be [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Raegan[/name_f] but my parents decided to do [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], which is beautiful and flows nicely. I think that I like the spelling [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] better then [name_f]Rachelle[/name_f] because I think that it just makes it a little too much, if you know what i mean. Either one works great! I think [name_m]Otto[/name_m] sounds good with it! I love how you are doing family names! Also on a side note, i had twin cousins named [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] and [name_f]Nadia[/name_f].
I’m assuming you’re pronouncing Rachelle as Ra-shell? Personally I feel Rachelle is the more dated one where as Rachel, though popular in the 90’s & early 00’s is more classic.
However with Otto I think the flow is better with Rachelle because of its softer sounds…,so really you can’t go wrong. Either would be a good choice
Rachel is lovely! I’ve often thought about adding it to my own list I think I prefer [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] though, as [name_f]Rachelle[/name_f] is a bit of a different pronunciation for me, (racsh-elle as opposed to ray-chel), and it does seem a bit likely to be misread as [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] on paper.
Rachel [name_m]Otto[/name_m] is lovely!
Rachelle sounds far more dated to me because of its similarity to [name_f]Michelle[/name_f]. [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] isn’t my favorite but I think it’s a classic and still works.
Ya just like @SparkleNinja18 when i heard the name [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] spelled [name_f]Rachelle[/name_f] i imedently thought of [name_f]Michelle[/name_f]
I would go with [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] but that is just my opinion!
Rachel is lovely! I’d stick with that one
I like [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] much more than [name_f]Rachelle[/name_f]. I might think it was an alternate spelling of [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] or more like a “fancier” version of [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I’m sure that’s really not fair to [name_f]Rachelle[/name_f]…
I really love [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] and don’t find it dated. I would love to meet a younger [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]!
I prefer [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]. There’s something very gentle and classic about it despite its spike in popularity. I also don’t think it feels very dated!
I don’t think [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] is that dated. Alot of those names are making a comeback
I do however prefer [name_f]Ottiline[/name_f]/Ottilie/Ottoline to [name_m]Otto[/name_m]. Its much softer, less clunky.
Another option to [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] is [name_f]Raquel[/name_f]
[name_f]Rachel[/name_f] [name_f]Ottiline[/name_f] or [name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] would stunning
I keep reading rachelle as [name_f]Rochelle[/name_f]. I would go with [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] [name_m]Otto[/name_m]
Rachel is much more timeless classy than [name_f]Rochelle[/name_f]/Rachelle.
I love @wilkie8709 's suggestions of [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] [name_f]Ottiline[/name_f] and [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f].
I am a big [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] fan! I would go with that. [name_f]Rachelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Raquel[/name_f] just don’t appeal as much. If you’re looking for other forms, I also like Racheline and the Hungarian [name_f]Rahel[/name_f].
