What do you think of [name_m]Roarke[/name_m]? [name_u]Or[/name_u] do you prefer [name_m]Roark[/name_m], Rourk, or [name_m]Rourke[/name_m]?
Also, do you see it more for a boy or a girl? It just won’t stop popping into my mind lately!
I definitely only see it as masculine and and it’s quite handsome!
I like the spelling Ruarc if you pronounce it with two syllables or [name_m]Roark[/name_m] if pronouncing it with one.
[name_m]Roarke[/name_m] is my favorite spelling, and I think it’s a fabulous idea for a name. So handsome! It’s a great sound and a great look. I’d assume a [name_m]Roarke[/name_m] was a boy, but I think it would absolutely work on a girl—especially in the middle spot, but either way is lovely. [name_f]Ro[/name_f] is a nice, soft nickname. [name_u]Rory[/name_u] is a spunky, playful one.
[name_m]Roarke[/name_m] is solid and rugged - kind of earthy and strong. I don’t mind it! I’d see it more as a masc name, but it could be unisex. [name_m]Roarke[/name_m] is my fave spelling. [name_u]Rory[/name_u] would be a cute nickname
[name_m]Roarke[/name_m], for a boy.
No matter how I say it I just can’t get behind it. Sounds kind of unpleasant in my ear- maybe it’s the roar that’s throwing me. Anywho it definitely is masculine to me. I would say if what you posted [name_m]Rourke[/name_m] seems the most intriguing in regards to spelling for me.
I hadn’t heard of it before. I have to say at first glance it seemed like a sound a frog would make. I think it would grow on me over time
I like it! [name_m]Roark[/name_m] is my favourite spelling I think — simple and no-fuss, like the sound — but I like [name_m]Roarke[/name_m], Ruarke, [name_m]Ruark[/name_m], Ruarc as well.
Afraid I get this too, I think the ‘roar’ sound puts me off so I prefer Rourke / Rourk / Ruarke / Ruark
I really like it for a boy! [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite spelling is [name_m]Roark[/name_m] - I love the meaning too. It has a strong sound and I actually enjoy the ‘roar’ connection
The first things that come to my mind are “roar” and “roach” but those aren’t strong associations, I think I could get past them. This name might grow on me. As with any name I don’t see this one belonging to a specific gender but it does have a more masculine vibe. Because of that it would probably be better received on a boy than a girl.
I keep saying it out loud and I’m on the floor laughing! [name_m]Rourke[/name_m] [name_m]Rourke[/name_m]!
I went to school with a girl called [name_m]Roarke[/name_m] so I would probably assume girl, but it does feel solidly unisex to me. [name_m]Roarke[/name_m] or [name_m]Roark[/name_m] are my favorite spellings. It’s cool and sharp, reminds me of [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], [name_u]Greer[/name_u], [name_u]Reese[/name_u], etc.
I was thinking a stomach gurgling but frog seems spot on.
The frog noise thing made me chuckle…that is what it sounds like.
I kind of like [name_m]Roarke[/name_m] (this spelling). I think it is a really cool choice and would be really excited to meet one! It is very unexpected, especially on a guy, and I like how it gives off a somewhat “off the beaten path” vibe.
[name_f]My[/name_f] one issue is that I struggle with the first part. I can say roar fine but with names like [name_m]Roarke[/name_m], [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], it comes out with almost a w sound. Woark, Ah-war-ra, etc. That’s a me thing though.
Personally, I’m not a fan. But I also don’t like [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], or [name_u]Rory[/name_u] either. I just don’t like that “roar” sound. But I do think it’s a fresh name, and I think it’s objectively nice for someone else. I think my favorite spelling is [name_m]Roarke[/name_m], but I also think I’d want to pronounce [name_m]Rourke[/name_m] differently than [name_m]Roarke[/name_m].
[name_m]Roarke[/name_m] might be my favorite spelling. It’s very strong, interesting, and rugged. It’s very masculine to me but I can see it being cute as a mn for girl if there was personal or family connection to it.
[name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings Orc name
While it looks nice, I find the sound very unattractive and non-name-like.
This! It’s a top 20 for twenty years for me.
