hi berries,
what do you think of the name rosalie? i’ve had it in mind for a while but have felt less drawn to it recently. it’s a lovely name but i think something i’m getting caught up on is that i prefer this name to be pronounced with each syllable (‘ro-sa-lie’). i don’t love this name as much when it’s pronounced quickly and thus shortened, like ‘ro-slee.’
what are your thoughts on rosalie?

Where I’m from (southern US), I only ever hear it as all 3 syllables. I know accents can affect this though. I think it’s a lovely name and have had it on my own list. It definitely has a sweet cottagecore feel to it.

[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is nice! Its flowery, light and sunny. I would pronounce it ro-suh-lee, with the suh sounding a bit like zuh.

I say [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] in three syllables. It’s pretty. Not the freshest, but pretty.

[name_u]Ive[/name_u] only heard it pronounced with 3 syllables (PNW region of the US)
I love [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]! It’s one of the few I would still consider using despite rising popularity. It’s feminine, sweet and vintage

I used to think [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] was an old lady name that was completely off the radar.
Then I taught a very cool [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] who was a middle school student (clearly named for an older relative), and the name really took off for me!
I really like it now.

[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is gorgeous - elegant, frilly but with spark too. I would say it with three clear syllables.

I don’t think I’ve ever met one but its one of my favorites and even though my western US accent tends to get lazy and drop middle syllables, I’ve never dropped the A sound on this one.

I like it, it’s very pretty (and it’s three syllables here in [name_m]Oz[/name_m] too) but I sense you have to be pretty cool and zippy to wear it and for it to feel fresh and fun rather than a bit fusty and long winded.

I say it with three syllables as well. It’s beautiful name! Great alternative to the traditional [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is gorgeous!
I say it with the three pronounced syllables. I think she’s lovely very sweet.
I love it! High on my list but rejected by picky husband. I like the vintage feel plus it has great easy nicknames (Rosie of course, but also Lee/Leelee, [name_f]Sally[/name_f], [name_u]Allie[/name_u], etc.) which give your daughter flexibility later depending on what kind of person she becomes.
