Until recently, I wasn’t a huge fan of the name [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]. It sounded a bit dated to me, and I had heard of nobody with the name (crazy, I know).
Then, after crawling out from under my rock, I heard of [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_m]Bader[/name_m] Ginsburg, who I have come to greatly admire. I think that using this name could honor her, as well as how far her forward thinking has brought feminism.

Ruth is lovely! Simple, sweet, strong, and classic-but-unexpected. Plus the meaning is lovely and RBG is an awesome namesake. And on top of that there’s adorable [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] for a nn.
I like [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] paired with a longer middle name (and maybe something a little bit whimsical):

Since getting married 5 years ago I’ve been torn on [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]. Before marriage, now hubby had mentioned that his idea of a good girl name was [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and I was somewhat horrified. Lacks a feminine quality and prettiness in my eat if that makes sense…
However, on the contrast, when I hear [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] my thinking automatically defaults to the story of the biblical [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] who displayed such faith in action. Hubby knows it’s one of my faves so maybe that’s why he was drawn to it. With this current pregnancy I feel somehow b/t now and then [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] has grown on me to where Incould see it as a viable middle name. And actually really was drawn to the name idea of [name_f]Promise[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]. I actually still really like that name so maybe it’ll be a future daughter the only reason why it went off the contender list is because I saw zero nicknames available. So yes all that to say currently [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] in my own tastes works best as a middle. But it is growing on me!
I love [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]! She’s gone on and off my lost over time, and what really drew me to [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] was the nn [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f]!
For me, it definitely feels very biblical, gentle, and kind. I love the nickname [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f]. Unfortunately, in my accent it sounds just like the word roof. One of my friends mum’s is called [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and roof jokes are often made (in good jest!). It’s a shame because it is otherwise appealing.
I LOVE the nickname [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f]. I have it saved for if I ever decide to adopt a pet because I think it is so gosh darn cute! I’d pair [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] with a simularly wholesome and sweet middle name with at least two syllables like [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]
Ruth is gorgeous - strong, yet soft. With [name_f]Rose[/name_f] being so popular, it feels like a lovely alternative, as both are short, R names with deep vowel sounds.
