Would Sid work on a boy? I love the name Sid (or Cid) for a boy! My grandfather’s name is Sidney. I realize that Sidney has been pulled over to the girls’ camp (and I do love it on girls too)–but what about Sid? Just plain Sid. Would Sid or Cid work for a boy these days? Just re-watched the movie Looper last night and there is the most adorable little boy character in it named Cid. It seems like it could make a comeback for boys–it’s part old man name (Sidney) and part edgy/rock ‘n’ roll (Sid Vicious). So maybe not Sidney…but what about Sid? It fits in with the old man name trend and the nicknames as official names trend (e.g. Alfie). Thoughts?
It’s one of my favorite names. I love [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] on a boy!
I love just [name_m]Sid[/name_m] personally.
I’d say use [name_u]Sidney[/name_u]! It’s a lovely classic boy’s name. [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] is dated on a girl, [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] on a boy is much nicer. [name_m]Sid[/name_m] by itself is not really to my taste, but I love it as a nickname for [name_u]Sidney[/name_u].
I love [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] for a boy Id use [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] and have [name_m]Sid[/name_m] as a nickname .
I love love love [name_m]Sid[/name_m] for a boy, [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] as well. It will always stay more on the boys side for me. I think Cid is a great alternative.
My name is [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] and I am a girl. I really like it because it isn’t to girly. I guess i like it on a boy
I love the name [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] but to me I prefer it on girls!
[name_u]Sidney[/name_u] is ALL boy to me, it will never be a girl’s name in my book, there is nothing feminine about it.
I think of [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] [name_m]Crosby[/name_m], best hockey player in the world!
