Thoughts on Taylor

I love the name Taylor for a girl, but am worried that it would be an outlier in a future sibset, as my other names lean more towards the traditional and “classic” side (Henry, Emma, Andrew, George etc).

I am thinking that I could use it as a middle for the other two girl FNs I love. Do Emma Taylor and Eden Taylor work and flow well?

Also, what would you name siblings to Taylor? I hope to have 5 kids someday - 3 boys and 2 girls - and hope to use Henry and Emma as FNs for the first boy and girl. Are there any names/combos from my signature that work with Taylor? Please feel free to suggest any other names that you feel go well with Taylor in a sibset, and also any middle names that would work!

TIA!!

[name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] both sound fine. I like [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] as a name, it has a lovely summery feel to it. If I was to pick from your signature, I like [name_u]Taylor[/name_u], [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u], [name_m]Asher[/name_m], [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] & [name_u]Elias[/name_u]. I wouldn’t worry too much about them matching though, if you love it you should use it!

@elle-bea, thank you for your reply! I love the flow and feel of the sibset you’ve mentioned! I think after a while that if I love a name so much, it won’t matter to me if it’s slightly different compared to the style of the other kids’ names!!

[name_u]Taylor[/name_u] is a little dated to me. I attended school with so many girls name [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]. I’d love to meet more boys with the name.

[name_u]Taylor[/name_u] seems dated

Agree that [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] and [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] work well together as siblings. [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f] could work too, especially if she goes by [name_u]Alex[/name_u].

Off your list, I think traditional/classic names that were popular when [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] was at its height would work in a sibset. Think [name_f]Nicole[/name_f], [name_f]Lauren[/name_f], [name_u]Alexis[/name_u], [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f]…

And, ultimately I agree with you that sibling names really don’t have to match. If you love the names, then that’s what matters.

Thank you for all of the feedback! I can definitely understand that the name’s popularity 20 years ago can definitely make it seem dated, so this is a reason why I’d be more inclined to use it as a middle if I ever decide to use it. It’s also a name that never really took off in [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] in comparison to how it did in the US. Thank you for all th replies!

I love the name [name_u]Taylor[/name_u], and i think it’d make an excellent sister name to [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] actually - in the US they’re all top 100 names so I wouldnt bat an eye at them together.

[name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] works beautifully but I do prefer your [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] [name_f]Roisin[/name_f]!

I think all of your boys names fit pretty well with [name_u]Taylor[/name_u], but the classics ([name_m]Aaron[/name_m], [name_m]Jacob[/name_m], [name_m]Anthony[/name_m], etc.) are likely the best fit, and for girls, [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f], [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] fit nicely

I also like these girls’ names with [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] (most of them are actual sibsets I know - [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] was super popular for girls when I was born!):

[name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]
[name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u]
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Amy[/name_f]
[name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]
[name_u]Madison[/name_u]
[name_f]Makayla[/name_f]
[name_u]Devon[/name_u]
[name_f]Laura[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Carly[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]
[name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]
[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u]
[name_f]Amanda[/name_f]
[name_f]Savannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Kayla[/name_f]
[name_f]Kaylee[/name_f]

Basically any name from the late 1990s/early 2000s top 100 in the US fits very nicely with [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] imo  I love it!

ETA: I also remembered a sibset of all girls I grew up with - [name_u]Taylor[/name_u], [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f], [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] and [name_u]Spencer[/name_u]

@lawsonhaley thank you so much for the feedback! It’s great to know that [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] wouldn’t seem too “out there” to others when in a sibset with [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I also never thought of using [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] together before, but now that you’ve mentioned it, I love it! I also adore your suggestions of [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u], [name_u]Madison[/name_u], [name_u]Reese[/name_u], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] & [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u]!
