[name]Hi[/name] everyone! I’m 31 weeks pregnant, and if it’s a boy, we have no idea what his name will be! I have really been crushing on [name]Thaddeus[/name]…it has all of the elements I want: longer, vintage feel, and biblical (a biblical name is not an absolute must, but it does add appeal for us). And I think [name]Tad[/name] and [name]Thad[/name] are both cute namenames for a little guy! I guess I’m just having trouble getting over what others might think of the name? My husband is definitely worried about that – he likes the name, but is concerned everyone will think it sounds pretentious or “too much” for a baby. (My thought is he’ll only be a baby for a short time!) What do you guys think of [name]Thaddeus[/name]? What does it bring to mind?
Regarding middles, I am thinking [name]Thaddeus[/name] [name]Watson[/name] (my maiden name). Thoughts on that combo?
I also love the idea of using [name]Simon[/name] as a mn (husband’s name). But I don’t think it works with [name]Thaddeus[/name] because of the s-s issue. Other names we have been kicking around…(some are just mn contenders, I think…)
Like you said he’ll only be a baby for a short time. [name]Don[/name]'t cutsy his name up for what’s only a few years of his life. [name]Thaddeus[/name] is an awesome name [name]IMO[/name]. I really think that using [name]Tad[/name]/[name]Thad[/name] would be better suited while he’s little then he’ll have a more professional opinion later in life. Also I think meaning trumps flow any day. [name]Thaddeus[/name] [name]Simon[/name] is a wonderful choice.
[name]Thaddeus[/name] is an awesome name! With the nn’s [name]Tad[/name] and [name]Thad[/name] he’ll have something short to use when he wants it, and I think [name]Thaddeus[/name] will fit in fine as a longer form. [name]Theodore[/name] is rising up the charts as another clunky name that starts with Th, ends in -s names are rising like [name]Silas[/name] and [name]Elias[/name] and [name]Atticus[/name].
If you are still really worried about the name, I think the Italian form [name]Taddeo[/name] is adorable and wearable by non-Italians too.
I love the idea of [name]Thaddeus[/name] [name]Watson[/name]. nn. [name]Tad[/name], [name]Thad[/name] are cute and if he wanted something a little edgier I think Deus could work too.
I have a cousin named [name]Thaddeus[/name] nn [name]Thad[/name]. He’s very tall, handsome and gregarious. All my friends had crushes on him growing up. It’s a great name! And I love it with [name]Watson[/name]!
