She’s slowly becoming my favourite girl’s name (at the moment) she’s just so elegant, pretty, and stylish. In my head [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] has a really attractive sound and looks visually appealing. I also love the religious imagery that [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] has due to the word angelic being in [name_f]Angelica[/name_f]. I also love the connotations of nature what with [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] being a nature name. But maybe it’s just a little too goody good girl…? Could you imagine [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] being a bad A.R.S.E what happens if little [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] wanted to be a dare devil would her name hold her back…? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you automatically think ‘RUGRATS’ when you see this name…? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you even like [name_f]Angelica[/name_f]…?
I mean [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] seems really unpopular, I’m not sure as to where she ranks in the UK top 1000 names but she isn’t in the top 100 and I love this obviously but could there be a reason as to why isn’t being used? Is she secretly unattractive? Or has this crude attachment like the name [name_f]Fanny[/name_f]?
So people help me do you like [name_f]Angelica[/name_f]? Thoughts on [name_f]Angelica[/name_f]?
Most likely her sister would be [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].
Other girls names l absolutely adore right now are [name_u]Carmen[/name_u], [name_f]Viola[/name_f], [name_f]Lilia[/name_f], [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f], and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]/[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].
I love the name! And it has the options of [name_u]Angie[/name_u] or [name_u]Ange[/name_u] for a nn, which could work for a little rebel. I haven’t seen Rugrats in years–do little kids still watch it? I have an ancestor named [name_f]Angelique[/name_f] and her name stands out on the family tree more than any other for its beauty and meaning.
Hmmmm I’m not huge fan, but I see the appeal of the name. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_f]Angelina[/name_f]? I like that name better. I think people could end up calling her [name_u]Angie[/name_u]. So you should maybe also consider where or not you like that. This might be really bad but when I say [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] it sort of sounds like Anjellyca.
Of course though the final say is ultimately up to you! And if you love it go for it!
Yeah I love the [name_u]Angie[/name_u] nickname! I can imagine a kid causing mischief with that nickname ; ) and that’s true nobody watches Rugrats any more…? I don’t think it’s on TV any more but I just didn’t want that connection to be really strong. Thank you both for the feedback.
[name_f]Angelica[/name_f] is gorgeous. It’s lush, stylish and sophisticated and I love the way it just rolls off the tongue. I don’t usually like frilly and feminine names so this is a rare exception for me. I think of the religious and nature associations before the Rugrats. [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] would be a wonderful sister duo.
The Rugrats was one of my favorite shows when I was little, so that’s my only association. [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] feels so bratty to me, and I can’t figure out if that’s because of [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] Pickles or not.
I knew an [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] as a child and she went by “Gel” - actually, I think that’s even her FB name now. I’m not a huge fan, but if you love it, use it.
I immediately think Rugrats!..but, like others have pointed out, your child’s peers wouldn’t know that show.
[name_f]One[/name_f] of the ladies who does storytime at our library is named [name_f]Angelica[/name_f], but she pronounces it [name_f]Ann[/name_f]-jel-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-kuh as opposed to [name_f]Ann[/name_f]-JEL-i-kuh. ([name_f]Hope[/name_f] that makes sense!) I’m pretty sure she’s from [name_f]Russia[/name_f].
I think it is nice, not my favorite but still nice. I don’t think many people will make Rugrats connection. I had a friend named [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] so that’s my association.
Yes, I aboslutely thought Rugrats. That said, I watched Rugrats a lot growing up. Most would not probably not make that connection, though. I prefer [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], but [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] is nice as well.
to me its a popular girl name which usually aren’t the nicest girls so I don’t feel its a ‘goody girl’ name.
as far as I know there aren’t any Rugrats reruns right? no kid today would know who you are talking about.
I do think of Anjelica Houston or however she misspells her name.
however it is lovely. to me Angel is too common & plain, while the variation Angelique is too sweet, overly flourished - Angelica is a nice balance.
ps a dare devil would most likely have a stage name, though Angel names are used all the time in a ‘bad’ connotation: Fallen Angel, Hells Angels, or as irony like when used by strippers. don’t worry about a name holding your kid back unless its really difficult to spell/pronounce, is a nickname name that holds no grown up feel, or ridiculous like Meta World Peace or ZuZu.
