Thoughts on the name Autumn

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it would be weird to call a [name_f]Spring[/name_f] baby Autumm? Also what are your general thoughts on this name? Thank you.

[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] not Autumm !

I love [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] / Automne! Not weird for a [name_f]Spring[/name_f] baby.

If you like [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], you might also like [name_u]Ember[/name_u], which is feels fresh and maybe a little less seasonal. I think [name_f]Audra[/name_f] or [name_u]Auden[/name_u] or [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] or [name_u]Arden[/name_u] also would work well for a spring baby. [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] isn’t one of my personal favorites as I strongly associate it with my own generation, but it is a fine name that is very wearable.

I think it’s beautiful, so romantic

I may be in the minority, but I prefer when [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] isn’t born in [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], [name_u]August[/name_u] isn’t born in [name_u]August[/name_u], and [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] wasn’t born on [name_f]Sunday[/name_f].

[name_f]Autumn[/name_f]: “Why am I named [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]?”
Parent: “Because you were born in [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]!..Get it?”

As opposed to choosing the name [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] for all it’s lovely qualities. [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] sounds dated to me because I know 3 Autumns born in the 80s, but this name has been getting a lot of love on nameberry and in the UK so I think I’m in the minority.

I love [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]. No, I don’t think it’s a problem to name your spring baby [name_f]Autumn[/name_f].

Thanks everyone. Also liking [name_f]Lola[/name_f], which does everyone prefer?

I think you can name your child [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] whether she was born in autumn or not. [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_m]Phillips[/name_m] (one of the [name_f]Queen[/name_f]'s granddaughters-in-law), who’s my main reference for the name, was born in spring so it doesn’t seem weird to me. I’ve never met an [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] in real life so it feels fresh and interesting to me, not dated at all. I prefer [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] to [name_f]Lola[/name_f]; [name_f]Lola[/name_f] feels way too cutesy to me, though a lot of people on Nameberry like it so I may be in the minority!

[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] is a fine name. I prefer [name_f]Lola[/name_f] though. I like [name_f]Lula[/name_f] too. A friend named her daughter [name_f]Lula[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] which i think is lovely.

Funny you mentioned [name_f]Lula[/name_f]! It’s also on the list, It’s between [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Lula[/name_f] or [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] !

I much prefer [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] to [name_f]Lola[/name_f]! My neighbor’s dog’s name was [name_f]Lola[/name_f], so I can only see that name as a pet name now. [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] is a really gorgeous name!! [name_f]Lula[/name_f] isn’t really my taste, and all I can think about is that leggings company LulaRoe. So [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] definitely has my vote!

I really like the name [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], but I’m not 100% sold on giving it to a [name_f]Spring[/name_f] baby. It is a really pretty name though.

I think [name_f]Lula[/name_f] is lovely  Especially with the right middle name.

Good luck with whatever name you choose. Personal taste can be so different. To test my children’s names out I would always pretend to be calling out to them with their full names 3 times. I would also write the name on paper 3 times. When I would see their faces for the first time I would know if the name was right or not. I love their names and most importantly I think they will too. Xxx

My daughter was born in [name_f]Summer[/name_f] and I named her [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the name as she does too. She is 26 now…

I love the name [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] and at any time of year. I much prefer it to [name_f]Lola[/name_f] And I knew a very … disagreeable woman named [name_f]Lula[/name_f] so wouldn’t even consider it for my pet.

I think you’ve got a winner with [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] though.

[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] sounds lovely and I’d definitely consider it for a middle name for an autumn baby.
Since there are a million name choices, I wouldn’t use [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_f]April[/name_f] or [name_f]May[/name_f] unless at the appropriate time of year. For spring, maybe [name_f]Verna[/name_f] (vernal) or [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] (printemps) or especially [name_f]Robyn[/name_f]!
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] doesn’t lend itself well to nicknaming. I think I would get tired of saying [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] multiple times a day and would end up calling Hey Autty… or worse.

[name_f]Lula[/name_f] is an insult where I live.
If someone is a loo-la they’re a bit mad. Doolally
