I love this name, I find it classic and timeless. I like the ‘C’ spelling better than [name]Katherine[/name]. What are your opinions? And other than the nicknames [name]Cate[/name] and [name]Catie[/name], what are some other nicknames?
Also, what are some good sibiling names? I love the name [name]Griffin[/name] for a boy but I don’t know about another girl.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]. I went with [name]Katharine[/name] for my daughter because I prefer [name]Kat[/name] and [name]Kit[/name] with “K”. But her main nickname is [name]Kat[/name] which would have worked as [name]Cat[/name].
One of the English classics - Margaret, Victoria, Mary and Elizabeth seem to be the most obvious sisters. My other daughter is Clare. I’ll be interested in what others think as a sister to Catherine. I’ve been trying to figure out if Lucy works as one.

Wanted to add that [name]Catherine[/name] is my mom’s name and my dad is [name]Lawrence[/name]. I always though [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Lawrence[/name] made a wonderful couple. They might be nice siblings. Too bad [name]Lawrence[/name] doesn’t have better nicknames…
I love [name]Catherine[/name]- this spelling especially. It’s really classy and regal to me. I prefer the nickname [name]Kitty[/name] (and if you can get [name]Kitty[/name] from [name]Cat[/name], why not from [name]Catherine[/name]?) or [name]Kay[/name] compared to [name]Catie[/name], [name]Cate[/name] or [name]Cathy[/name]. They seem so much fresher.
For siblings I think something with the same classic vibe would work well. Something like [name]Lucille[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Edith[/name], and [name]Sybil[/name] for girls, and [name]Frederick[/name], [name]Lawrence[/name], [name]Edmund[/name], and [name]Sampson[/name] for boys.

I would probably do something fairly classic for her sister–something like [name]Violet[/name], [name]Anne[/name]/[name]Anna[/name]/[name]Annabel[/name]/[name]Anneliese[/name], [name]Julia[/name], [name]Jane[/name], [name]Elena[/name], etc. for a girl. I like [name]Finn[/name] as a brother for [name]Catherine[/name], or [name]Julian[/name]. I also like your idea of [name]Griffin[/name].

I’m obviously biased since I named my daughter [name]Catherine[/name] (nn [name]Cate[/name], sometimes [name]Catie[/name]), but I love the name! I think it’s a beautiful, classic name.
