Is it irredeemably old-fashioned/granny sounding, or could you see it work on a cute little girl and grow with her into adulthood?
I love the classic feel of it and that it is not over-used…but maybe I’m the only one that sees it that way?

Def works on a cute little girl and an adult woman. I [name]LOVE[/name] it actually. It’s classic and ready for revival [name]IMO[/name].
I love [name]Helen[/name]. I love the history behind the name, but if you’re worried about it not sounding good on a little girl, maybe [name]Helena[/name]? Helly, [name]Len[/name], or with [name]Helena[/name], [name]Lena[/name] are good nicknames for a kid too. [name]Love[/name] it!
I think [name]Helen[/name] is a beautiful name.
However, I had a friend growing up named [name]Helen[/name] and she HATED her name. She said she was picked on a lot as a kid for having an old lady name and she never felt like her name actually fit her.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Helen[/name] nn [name]Nell[/name]! If she finds it too old, she could use the nickname [name]Ellie[/name].
I think [name]Helen[/name] is ready for a comeback. It has definitely grown on me. Other options might be [name]Ellen[/name] or [name]Helena[/name].
I don’t consider [name]Helen[/name] to be an old lady name at all. It’s classic and beautiful and would be great on little girl or an adult. You could also go with a [name]Helen[/name] variant, such as [name]Helena[/name] or [name]Elena[/name].
[name]Helen[/name] is utterly tasteful and under-appreciated. It won’t be far behind [name]Pearl[/name]…
I love the name [name]Helena[/name]! The only thing that stops me from using it is that it is the capital of the state I grew up in and all my family would be like " why’d you name her after [name]Helena[/name]?" lol
I have to admit, it has grown on me. I worry that it is a tad old-ladyish though. I prefer [name]Ellen[/name]. Still, [name]Helen[/name] is very pretty and could work well on both a young girl and definitely a grown woman.
If I were able to have another daughter, I would definitely use the name [name]Helen[/name]. I love the name. It is simple, graceful, and classic. Lots of nns for a small child – [name]Nell[/name], [name]Nellie[/name], [name]Lena[/name], [name]Ellie[/name] – and then a beautiful name for an adult woman.
I have an Aunt [name]Helen[/name] so I think it works on a baby and a grown up, I can see it making a comeback.
[name]Helen[/name] is an all-time classic, in my opinion, and I prefer the traditional name over all the variants, although I do love the Greek [name]Eleni[/name].
[name]Helen[/name] is a great name and I think it’s already coming back. I know a young lady in her early twenties with that name and it’s perfect on her. She is very lady-like and serious, but cool and into yoga and stuff at the same time.
My favorite name for a girl is [name]Helena[/name], and I’ve had a bit of a personal dilemma trying to choose between [name]Helena[/name] and [name]Helen[/name]. The name would be after my great-grandmother [name]Helen[/name], who’s probably the most amazing person I know. I chose [name]Helena[/name] over [name]Helen[/name] because I feel that the -a would give my daughter a degree of separation from her namesake, if you will.
However, [name]Helen[/name] is a beautiful name. It has a lovely meaning and a rich history going back to ancient times. [name]Helen[/name] is classy, sweet, and ripe for a revival. A [name]Helen[/name] today would fit right in with [name]Ella[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Sophia[/name], etc.
I like [name]Helen[/name] but love [name]Helena[/name]!
I love [name]Helen[/name]. It’s lovely and classic and so pretty. [name]One[/name] of my friends has a daughter named [name]Helen[/name] (she’s 17 now) and I have to admit I was a little taken aback when she named her that. But I cannot imagine her being named anything differently now. She’s a cool girl- really, really smart and witty and very into music.
[name]Helen[/name] is definitely ready for a comeback.
Best wishes!
It’s a bit heavy for a child. I knew a [name]Helen[/name] when I was younger and she hated her name. I like [name]Helena[/name] “hel-lay-na”
Its a goregous name rich with history. My [name]Nanna[/name] is a [name]Helen[/name] and I love her name, I would consider naming a future daughter after her or using the variant [name]Helena[/name].
[name]Helen[/name] is my mothers name so I’ve always seen it as a name for a grown woman and I’ve never heard it on a teenager or young girl, but I definitely think that it could work though. It sounds very sophisticated.
