I like the name [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] but it’s a little too “classic/old” sounding for me so I started looking for similar names and I came across the name [name_f]Katarine[/name_f] ([name_f]Kat[/name_f]-a-reen) and was wondering what you all thought of it?
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you guys prefer [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Katarine[/name_f] more?
It sounds a little awkward to me, tbh. Maybe you’d like [name_f]Katerina[/name_f], [name_f]Katrina[/name_f], or [name_f]Katrine[/name_f] instead?
I personally prefer [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] to [name_f]Katarine[/name_f].
I prefer Katerine because I love twists to classic names.
It may be awkward to some people, but I grew used to hearing it from The Vampire Diaries
(I’m a happy nerd). Anyway, one of the characters goes by [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], but eventually we learn her real name is [name_f]Katerina[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Katerina[/name_f] and Katerine are very pretty!
I don’t dislike it, but I think it will be misheard as [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. Given that some people/cultures struggle with the “th” I can tell you that lots of [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]’s have people who just already naturally call them [name_f]Katarine[/name_f]. I don’t think one sounds younger than the other though if that’s your goal, so I think it just comes down to which sound you like better.
Katarine is interesting and different
