I’m rewatching Glee and found [name_m]Kurt[/name_m]. An obscure gem of a name. Wanted to know what the berries think? Does it make you think of Glee or can it stand on its own?
I’m not personally a fan of the sound. It makes me think of the word curt, as well as curdled milk. It’s also a very much a 60s, maybe 70s name to me. I don’t think of Glee at all.
Kurt isn’t my favorite, I’m sorry. It feels very dated to me. [name_f]My[/name_f] first associations are [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] [name_m]Russell[/name_m] and [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] [name_m]Cobain[/name_m], which I do like. I did also think of Glee, but I don’t think that’s the strongest association with the name! [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] is strong and sweet, so it could technically work. I’m just not sure it’s ready for a comeback yet!
Hmm, not sure I care for it. I think I prefer [name_u]Curtis[/name_u]. I have not seen Glee but my first thought was [name_m]Cobain[/name_m] too. This isn’t a bad name just not my style.
It makes me think of a friend I had growing up, the baseball player Kurt Schilling and The Sound of [name_f]Music[/name_f]. I’ve never seen Glee.
I think of [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] [name_m]Cobain[/name_m]! But prefer the last name over the first name when it comes to that naming! I’m actually a major glee fan and totally wouldn’t associate [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] with [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] Hummel unless I have another friend who watches that and knows about it! I think it’s better than [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] but don’t really like it without a middle name!
I like [name_u]Curtis[/name_u] a lot and am hoping it comes back into fashion as its a family name. I like all the [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] associations as well, [name_m]Russell[/name_m], Sound of [name_f]Music[/name_f] and [name_m]Cobain[/name_m] (although a little dark but still not so bad). I think [name_u]Curtis[/name_u] would make a lovely middle name. [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] without [name_u]Curtis[/name_u] does seem a bit choppy to me but its definitely not unusable!
I quite like it. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I think it sounds a little blunt, I prefer it to [name_u]Curtis[/name_u]. I don’t think of Glee at all.
Kurt is kind of cool. I do prefer [name_m]Kurtis[/name_m] but [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] can stand alone
Okay it’s kinda dated but I do like it. Although I prefer [name_m]Kurtis[/name_m] with the nn [name_m]Kurt[/name_m].
I think about [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] [name_u]Douglas[/name_u] first because I’m ancient but its a cute name and I love it.
Dwight [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] Schrute is the only thing I can think of. Not a bad name by any means though
It makes me think of the YouTuber [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] Schneider
Kurt as a standalone firstly strikes me as very… well, curt.
But I like it as a nickname for [name_u]Curtis[/name_u], and the first famous namesake that comes to mind is [name_m]Cobain[/name_m] - not a bad one, in my opinion!
I prefer [name_m]Kirk[/name_m]. [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] is a fine name, though.
It reminds me of yoghurt, so I dont really like it!
I love it on the glee character though.
It’s a little dated, and I don’t like that it sounds like ‘curt,’ but it’s usable. It made me think of someone I know with the name.
Sound like I’m the odd one out, but I like [name_m]Kurt[/name_m]. I think it’s a strong name with a nice ring to it. As others said, it could be used as a nn for [name_u]Curtis[/name_u], but I think it works just as well as a stand alone. I don’t think of Glee when I hear the name. I think of The Sound of [name_f]Music[/name_f], which isn’t a bad association.
I don’t mind [name_m]Curt[/name_m] / [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] . [name_f]My[/name_f] spouse is [name_u]Curtis[/name_u] and he hates when people call him [name_m]Curt[/name_m]. I affectionately all him Curty and he hasn’t told me he hates that
I also like the similar [name_m]Kirk[/name_m] !
My first [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] association is Vonnegut, which is nothing short of fantastic .
The name itself is a little abrupt and hard. I think [name_u]Curtis[/name_u] is easier to pair with MN and LN, and has a friendlier sound. However, I also think there’s charm and appeal in names that are naturally clunky and challenging. Names like [name_m]Knox[/name_m], which in my opinion has the similar vibe and situation as [name_m]Kurt[/name_m], has turned out to be popular and appealing, so why not [name_m]Kurt[/name_m]?
