I think I like it, but I have a hard time imagining a real person named [name_u]Ocean[/name_u]. I also worry about teasing, since there are a number of avenues people might go with jokes (more so for a girl than a boy). I don’t know, I feel really undecided on this one.
I really love [name_u]Ocean[/name_u]. It’s a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, but one that I would maybe consider as a first.
I like the simplicity of [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] and [name_f]Marie[/name_f] together.
[name_u]Ocean[/name_u] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f], [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]?
Sibsets with [name_u]Ocean[/name_u]:
[name_u]Ocean[/name_u] and [name_f]Acacia[/name_f]
[name_f]Talullah[/name_f] and [name_u]Ocean[/name_u]
[name_u]Ocean[/name_u] and [name_m]Koa[/name_m]
[name_m]Wilder[/name_m] and [name_u]Ocean[/name_u]
I like Oceane if you are pronouncing it oh-say-ANN or oh-say-EN. [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] doesn’t work as well for a first name [name_f]IMO[/name_f] but would be fine in the middle.
I can only think of my childhood when I hear the name [name_u]Ocean[/name_u]…each school year there was at least 3 Oceans or variants of it ([name_f]Oceana[/name_f], [name_f]Oceania[/name_f] etc) in my year…so to me at least it sticks as a very 90s baby name, and most of them were trouble makers and class clowns
[name_u]Ocean[/name_u] for a girl is awesome!!! I don’t like ultra feminizing everything, I think it is completely wearable and wonderful just as it is
[name_u]Ocean[/name_u] is pretty cool though I def. prefer it on a boy. I do like [name_f]Marie[/name_f] with it as it’s very “normal” with more out there [name_u]Ocean[/name_u]. I’d honestly prefer it as a middle, however. Océane is a good suggestion, I’d like to clarify the pronunciation though it’s more like oh-sih-enn (in [name_m]French[/name_m]) than o-say-ann.
I think it would be a little tough to pull off as it is very much a word-- especially if you live near the coast. But, if someone could pull it off, I think it’s beautiful! I don’t think it’s too masculine.
I do think [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] works if you’re brave enough.
Personally, I love [name_f]Oceana[/name_f] - if she absolutely hates it, she can go by [name_f]Ana[/name_f] (ahh-nuh, like the Disney princess). (Oh-she-ahh-nuh)
I love [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] a lot, and can see it working for either gender, but I agree it is a much safer option as a middle? [name_m]Even[/name_m] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] is really lovely. I have to say I prefer it as a middle, but it is a lovely name, and I’d love to see it used.
