[name]Just[/name] wondering. What are your thoughts on the name [name]Olivia[/name]? What “style” does it fit into? [name]Do[/name] you feel itis classic? Vintage? too trendy?
Thanks =0)
Definitely too trendy in my area. That last two little girls I know born were named [name]Olivia[/name]. I personally have an aversion to names that start with O and [name]Olivia[/name] doesn’t do it for me. I actually just like [name]Liv[/name], but I wouldn’t go there now with all these [name]Olivia[/name]'s being called Livi. Despite my personal distaste for the name, I would say it’s a little vintage. Not sure about classic, bc for me classic is like [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Katherine[/name], [name]Sara[/name], etc. names that are always there never dropping in and out of consciousness. I totally feel like [name]Olivia[/name] is very hot right now, but hasn’t been in the last 20 years and I suspect its hotness will wear off in the next 5-10 years again, but it’s never going anywhere. I just don’t see it as a classic like [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Jane[/name].
It is definitely VERY trendy in my area as well. My second cousin named her oldest daughter [name]Olivia[/name] a few years ago and they are everywhere.
That being said, I do think it is an absolutely beautiful name! It’s popular because it’s beautiful.
I think it fits into an Antique category. I, like the previous poster, wouldn’t say its a classic, but its an old name. It’s feminine and frilly, but not overly so.
