I know I have been posting a lot lately! [name_m]Just[/name_m] hoping to glean some wisdom in this whole baby naming process! This is baby number 4 as I think I had mentioned and I am having such a hard time coming up with something I love, especially for girls! I came across the name [name_f]Raina[/name_f] in a book that I am just reading, pronounced [name_u]Ray[/name_u]-Na, or at least that’s how I think it’s pronounced? That’s how I like it though. I am kind of a stickler on spelling though when it comes to names so I’m not sure that this name would be a good fit. [name_m]How[/name_m] would you spell it? [name_m]How[/name_m] would you pronounce it? My other kids are [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_m]Ben[/name_m] and [name_m]Josh[/name_m] so I’m not sure if it’s too “out there” of a name with those pretty common names.
I love [name_f]Raina[/name_f]! It is a little bit of a different style from your other names but it’s completely fine to me. Thanks to you I might have to create a new poll and add Raina to it! Other ideas:
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]
[name_f]Tess[/name_f]/[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_u]Julie[/name_u]/[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]/[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f]
Yeah I agree with your pronounciation.
I like that it is unique but not strange.
To me it’s a stronger version of the name [name_f]Raine[/name_f]/ [name_u]Rain[/name_u].
I don’t love or hate it
I like it and think it works well with the siblings. I would spell and pronounce it as you have.
I like it, my favorite author for a while was [name_f]Raina[/name_f] Telgemeier. It’s a little out there for your style, but it works fine.
I prefer [name_f]Raina[/name_f] spelled [name_f]Reyna[/name_f].
I like it but am more a fan of the spelling [name_f]Reyna[/name_f]. I think it would go fine with your other kids’ names.
I like [name_f]Raina[/name_f] with that spelling. I also love [name_f]Laina[/name_f], which was on my list and may fit better with your other names!
I love it!
I knew a girl called [name_f]Raina[/name_f] when I was little and I always thought she had one of the prettiest names.
I have a friend who has a [name_f]Rayna[/name_f] and she is a delightful teenager at the moment. She told me she liked her name as it was “unique but not weird.” She was the only [name_f]Rayna[/name_f] (of any spelling) in her school but no one ever mispronounced it - which she really liked. I think however you spell it, it works well with your other children’s names!
I pronounce it the way you do. It’s spunky and unique but sounds simple enough to work with your other kids’ names. I say go for it!
I think [name_f]Raina[/name_f] is a beautiful name. Go for it!
Your children have classic names. [name_f]Raina[/name_f] is ok, but a little redneck to me.
I love [name_f]Raina[/name_f]. I know some in her 70s with the name. Same pronunciation; however, I think she may spell it [name_f]Reyna[/name_f]. I like both spellings. I hope you use it.
I recently met a [name_f]Raina[/name_f] and I thought her name was beautiful and strong sounding. I’d say go for it!
