Okay, everyone! I’ve got a new name to introduce. What do you think of Velouria? pronounced Vel-or-ia. It’s an old song by the Pixies. Maybe [name_f]Vella[/name_f] as a nickname?
I did some googling, and the only thing I could find was that this is the name of a video game character, and it’s a song name.
Opinions?
The fabric immediately comes to mind, but [name_f]Vella[/name_f] is cute.
Velouria has an interesting sound! I prefer [name_f]Valora[/name_f] though 
[name_f]Vella[/name_f], [name_f]Ria[/name_f], [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] and [name_f]Lora[/name_f] would all make cute nn
Interesting name. To me it sounds like a combination of velour (the fabric) and [name_f]Valeria[/name_f] (a very classic Russian/Spanish/Italian girl’s name).
Ye the name is as cute as the game character.
I love the Pixies, but in my opinion naming your child Velouria is like naming her [name_f]Velvet[/name_f] or [name_m]Cotton[/name_m]. I can’t say I’m a fan.
I think the spelling/pronunciation is a bit confusing, I doubt people would ever get it right on the first try. I prefer just [name_f]Vella[/name_f], or maybe [name_f]Viola[/name_f]?
I’ve not heard of the fabric, but I’m not keen on the thought of this as a name regardless. I would’ve instinctively pronounced it vel-lou-ria and apart from that, it just looks made up.
