I recently found a list of [name_u]Irish[/name_u] surnames and I’d love some thoughts on them and what ones you’d add to my list. I already have [name_u]Dempsey[/name_u] , [name_u]Clancy[/name_u] and [name_u]Flannery[/name_u] on the list.
[name_u]Breslin[/name_u] (If you like this what is better [name_u]Breslin[/name_u] or Berlin?) [name_m]Cagney[/name_m] [name_u]Cleary[/name_u] [name_u]Connelly[/name_u] [name_u]Connery[/name_u] [name_m]Conway[/name_m] [name_m]Daley[/name_m] [name_m]Ferris[/name_m] [name_f]Hennessy[/name_f] (I know about the whiskey but tbh it doesn’t bother me that much since [name_f]Brandy[/name_f] exists and [name_f]Hennessy[/name_f] is a brand rather than a type and brands are subject to change however if you think it’s especially heinous and I should be worried let me know) [name_u]Keller[/name_u] [name_u]Mccarthy[/name_u] [name_u]Mckellar[/name_u] [name_u]Morrissey[/name_u] [name_u]Rooney[/name_u]
I like [name_u]Keller[/name_u] - but it reminds me of Killer
[name_u]Mccarthy[/name_u] is cool in sound but does feel political - same with Morissey
I prefer [name_u]Berlin[/name_u] to [name_u]Breslin[/name_u]
I like [name_u]Connelly[/name_u], [name_u]Connery[/name_u] (out of the two I prefer Connelly!), [name_m]Daley[/name_m] and [name_u]Rooney[/name_u]! I think they’re cute, they work on a girl, and have a fun energetic sound.
[name_u]Breslin[/name_u] isn’t my thing but I do prefer it to [name_u]Berlin[/name_u].
And I agree with the previous comments on Keller/McKellar, [name_u]Morrissey[/name_u] and McCarthy!
Hmm, I think [name_u]Connelly[/name_u] - I think it suits the vibe you usually go for and rolls more easily off the tongue - plus it gives you great nickname options if she wants them (Connie, [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_u]Nelly[/name_u], [name_f]Elly[/name_f], [name_f]Elle[/name_f], Coco)
I like [name_m]Daley[/name_m], [name_m]Ferris[/name_m] & [name_u]Rooney[/name_u] the best. I also like [name_u]Tierney[/name_u] as another one you might like.
Don’t like [name_u]Connery[/name_u] in part because of [name_u]Sean[/name_u] but mostly because it sounds like the word stupidity/jerky behaviour in [name_u]French[/name_u] (la connerie).
I know [name_u]Berlin[/name_u] & a [name_m]Ferris[/name_m] (boy). I like [name_u]Breslin[/name_u] & [name_u]Berlin[/name_u] best from your list. I love [name_u]Morrissey[/name_u], but for a boy
breslin (i berlin as well but they give off different vibes to me, i think breslin fits better with your style!)
daley
hennessy (personally i’d keep in the middle spot)
mccarthy (the sound is pretty, i don’t know if the political connotations bother you)
rooney
i dislike…
cagney (feels solidly masculine to me)
cleary
keller / mckellar (both feel a bit blunt)
morrissey
~ [name_u]Connery[/name_u] (my favorite! I love [name_u]Connor[/name_u] and this would be a cool way for someone to honor a Connor!)
~ [name_u]Cleary[/name_u]
~ McCarthy
~ [name_u]Rooney[/name_u]
I also like [name_m]Daley[/name_m] but something about the spelling isn’t my fav!
I went back and forth between [name_u]Cleary[/name_u] and [name_u]Connery[/name_u] being my fav but went with [name_u]Connery[/name_u]. I just love the sound!!
The only two I can see on a little girl are [name_u]Breslin[/name_u] or [name_m]Daley[/name_m]. Of course that depends on how [name_m]Daley[/name_m] is pronounced - if it’s Dall-ee then I like it, if it’s said like Day-lee, then I don’t like it.
I’m really not a fan of [name_u]Berlin[/name_u] or [name_u]Cleary[/name_u] or [name_u]Keller[/name_u]. McCarthy is too political for me and not at all feminine in my opinion. [name_m]Ferris[/name_m] is too [name_m]Ferris[/name_m] [name_m]Bueller[/name_m] or I think of a ferris wheel. [name_m]Cagney[/name_m] is not a name I can see on a little girl or a little boy for that matter.
I can’t think of any [name_u]Irish[/name_u] surnames that would suit a little girl, there are so many pretty choices as first names, I would personally stick to one of them.
