I very much think all these names go well with [name_m]Eli[/name_m] [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m].
I just don’t want to spend the entire 9 months of my pregnancy looking up names (though I feel I probably will when I find out I’m pregnant).
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband doesn’t like [name_m]Ian[/name_m] so much as he likes [name_u]Evan[/name_u] so I can add that one: [name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_m]Carl[/name_m]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] is hands down for me. So pretty and perfect. Also [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] & [name_m]Eli[/name_m] [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m] sound really nice together. The similar “el” sounds at the beginning and end of each name tie them together. The boy names are really not my style. I like [name_u]Evan[/name_u] the best [name_m]Ian[/name_m] has always felt meek and [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] too feminine/confused, and [name_m]Carl[/name_m] sounds like a name for a fish or frog. Sorry I just have really bad associations with those names so don’t take any of my opinions to heart. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]?
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f] [name_f]Audriana[/name_f] - I am not a fan of [name_f]Audriana[/name_f]. But it has a nice flow as a combo.
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] - This is nice. It’s classy and sweet. I think [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] & [name_m]Eli[/name_m] go really well together
[name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Carl[/name_m] (alternatively [name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Carlos[/name_m]) - I like [name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Carlos[/name_m] a little bit better. Also [name_m]Ian[/name_m] & [name_m]Eli[/name_m] are a lot of the same sounds.
[name_m]Adrian[/name_m] [name_m]Carl[/name_m] - [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] feels better than [name_m]Ian[/name_m].
[name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_m]Carl[/name_m] - This is just ok. I’m tempted to suggest [name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u]
Thank you for your thoughts. After going through this whole name thing once, I am starting to appreciate other’s comments as just that, their own opinions. I do appreciate the time you took to write that opinion.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the name [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]: Already used in the Family by my brother, and Brother-in-law. [name_f]My[/name_f] rule is not to duplicate any immediate family member’s first names. [name_f]My[/name_f] second rule is not to use family middle names of Brother’s and brother-in-laws.
So, not an option. But a good suggestion. Hopefully you can use [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] in the future if you haven’t already.
Okay so to update again (ooh I hoped the reply was directly to the comment I had hit reply on, apparently it was not).
I asked my mother in law for male names that haven’t been used in the family recently. When I read the list, I fell in love with one name: [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]. [name_f]My[/name_f] husbands Great-Grandfather was [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] B. and I absolutely [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the whole name, but I want to use [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] more then [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], and I’d rather have a middle name from my family to go with [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] so I’ve decided to put on the list:
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Jose[/name_m]. Most likely this will be the name to go with [name_m]Eli[/name_m] [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m]. [name_m]Eli[/name_m] [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m] and [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Jose[/name_m]. EJ and CJ. Funny because I originally thought about using all J middle names, and it appears that I will do just that for son’s. For a daughter I’m still smitten with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], I love [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]. So [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] it probably will be.
However I did come up with another couple J names I like: [name_f]Juanita[/name_f], and [name_u]June[/name_u]. so that is an option. I did also put down [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u], and my husband said “[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]? Hmm” so that means it’s on the list.
Thank you for your comments. I like how nice this board is. You are helpful in helping me see if my name choice would be liked or hated (and I don’t want my son to have his name hated). I hope that my son [name_m]Eli[/name_m] will love his name as he grows up, and my future child or children will love theirs. I have a little love-hate relationship with my name honestly and it is refreshing that I can choose a name I hope my child loves.
Now if there are any problems with [name_m]Calvin[/name_m], besides the obvious [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Hobbes[/name_m] references he may get (That would be the nursery theme), please let me know. I want to prepare my son for that, because I do love the name.
I love [name_m]Eli[/name_m] and [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]. Having 3 nn options is pretty great too - [name_u]Cal[/name_u] or [name_m]Vin[/name_m] or CJ. The EJ and CJ theme is fun.
I actually like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] if you want to continue it for a girl - AJ.
PS I just learned recently that [name_m]Bill[/name_m] Watterson refuses to merchandise his comic, so you won’t find anything beyond the books and photos from the books. [name_f]My[/name_f] friend made himself a giant [name_m]Hobbs[/name_m] to dress up like [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]+[name_m]Hobbs[/name_m] one year for Halloween. I love the idea of a [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Hobbs[/name_m] nursery! Very unique.
I love [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]. [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] [name_m]Carl[/name_m], [name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_m]Carl[/name_m], and [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] are all nice too. I love [name_m]Calvin[/name_m], and [name_m]Eli[/name_m] and [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] together, but not sure I love [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Jose[/name_m]…
I know this much: The first names are absolutely set in stone: I do love [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], and I love [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]. The middle names can change. However I do still love [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] and [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Jose[/name_m].
When I find out I’m pregnant with number two I will take name suggestions and put it on the middle name list from now on. Since I’m absolutely sure now I want to name a daughter [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and son [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]. I do hope that I get that chance to name and raise a daughter. The name [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] means [name_m]Noble[/name_m] Strength, and I just love the meaning of the name.
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] doesn’t have a great meaning to the name but it being a family name gives it sentimentality that is missing in the meaning of the name.
I personally love names, there are a lot of good names so settling on just one is always hard. I think what makes it easier this time is I’ve done this once before. Good luck in your pregnancies. Sticky vibes to everybody.
