Thoughts on these sib-sets

I’m just looking for thoughts on these sib-sets for my WIP. [name_f]Do[/name_f] they sound like they go reasonably well together?

Parents: Abidan & [name_f]Perdita[/name_f]
Children: [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] & [name_u]Blaise[/name_u]

Parents: [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Casimir[/name_m] & [name_f]Queen[/name_f] Cyrene
Children: [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_f]Elodia[/name_f], [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], Demetri

Parents: [name_u]Sheridan[/name_u] & Zerdali
Children: [name_u]Sage[/name_u] (who goes by [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] for most of the story, his mn), [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] (b), and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] (b)

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Dantea, I hope you are doing well.

Parents: Abidan & [name_f]Perdita[/name_f]
Children: [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] & [name_u]Blaise[/name_u] - I like these family names.

Parents: [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Casimir[/name_m] & [name_f]Queen[/name_f] Cyrene
Children: [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_f]Elodia[/name_f], [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], Dimian - I think [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] and Dimian are too similar for siblings. Did you consider [name_m]Dimitri[/name_m]/[name_m]Dmitri[/name_m] or [name_m]Demetrius[/name_m]? I think these name would go well with [name_m]Casimir[/name_m] and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m].

Parents: [name_u]Sheridan[/name_u] & Zerdali - are these two characters from completely different cultures (an Irish Searcher and a Turkish [name_m]Wild[/name_m] Apricot?). [name_u]Sheridan[/name_u] doesn’t have the exotic flair of Zerdali. Have you considered [name_m]Severin[/name_m], [name_m]Salton[/name_m]/[name_m]Sultan[/name_m], [name_m]Seraphim[/name_m] or Sevilen (Turkish)?

Children: [name_u]Sage[/name_u] (who goes by [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] for most of the story, his mn), [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] (b), and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] (b). Three boys with word names. [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] are interesting for a boy. I think a [name_u]Sheridan[/name_u] may call his children by these names but I’m not sure a Zerdali would.

Thanks [name_u]Mischa[/name_u].

I like [name_m]Dmitri[/name_m] better for [name_u]Alex[/name_u]'s brother. Thanks for the suggestion

[name_u]Sheridan[/name_u] and Zerdali are from different cultures. She’s from a more middle eastern type place and he lives in the woods in what would be the UK type area. He’s a druid and she enters into the druid life with him which is why the boys all have those sorts of names.

Parents: Abidan & [name_f]Perdita[/name_f]
Children: [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] & [name_u]Blaise[/name_u] - Is there a specific reason why [name_u]Blaise[/name_u] has some kind of trendy name? If not, I would pick something more distinctive because Abidan, [name_f]Perdita[/name_f] and [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] are such.

Parents: [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Casimir[/name_m] & [name_f]Queen[/name_f] Cyrene
Children: [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_f]Elodia[/name_f], [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], Dimian - [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is great but a bit plain next to [name_f]Elodia[/name_f], [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] and Dimian. Alexey maybe? Iskander?

Parents: [name_u]Sheridan[/name_u] & Zerdali
Children: [name_u]Sage[/name_u] (who goes by [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] for most of the story, his mn), [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] (b), and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] (b) - This one is truly lovely, so wood-sy!

[name_u]Blaise[/name_u] is the name of a scientist and has ancient roots same as [name_f]Ursula[/name_f]. The character has always been [name_u]Blaise[/name_u] for 10 years now so I don’t think I can change it :stuck_out_tongue: If it makes you feel better, when my former friend wrote him, she spelled his name [name_m]Blayze[/name_m].

For [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], he’s been [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] for 10 years too and I can’t think of him as anything else. I thought I did a decent job with classic [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] and classic [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] next to unusual [name_f]Elodia[/name_f] and unusual [name_m]Dimitri[/name_m] now.

And thank you!

They all seem ok to me. I know you go by meanings more than anything else so I can’t judge them by my own standards of cohesiveness*. I particularly like [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] and [name_u]Blaise[/name_u] together, both are fun to say!

*read, ‘it just has to sound good’.
