Thoughts on this boy name...

This is my third boy.
Older brothers [name_u]Kai[/name_u] and [name_m]Zeke[/name_m] ([name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m])

Honest thoughts on the name - [name_m]Jedidiah[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] (called [name_m]Jed[/name_m])

We are not really religious and we are not Amish (I have had a lot of people say they immediately think Amish when they hear this). The first name is from a Grateful dead song (my husband is a HUGE fan) and the middle for his grandfather.

Husband also really like [name_m]Jedidiah[/name_m] [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] (both from dead songs)

I like it  It’s a strong, firm kind of name - with just a touch of country boy but that’s never a bad thing in my mind  - and not very common either! I have a preference for [name_m]Jedidiah[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. [name_m]Jedidiah[/name_m] already has a firmness to it, adding solemn [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] to it makes it almost a little too concrete.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps! Good luck and congrats!

Does seem religious to me and I would be unsure how to pronounce ( [name_u]Brit[/name_u] berry in case that helps).
But if you don’t mind these things go for it!

I don’t like it. It’s clunky and not attractive to me.

I would see the religious affiliation more if they went by their full names: [name_u]Kai[/name_u], [name_m]Jedidiah[/name_m] and [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m]. If they’re mostly [name_u]Kai[/name_u], [name_m]Zeke[/name_m] and [name_m]Jed[/name_m] I don’t think people will assume you’re Amish (by the way, I can’t believe people thought that; it seems like a very unusual assumption to make simply based on children’s names)! I love the three names together. [name_u]Kai[/name_u], [name_m]Jed[/name_m] and [name_m]Zeke[/name_m] are definitely great names for brothers. Also, I think the combination of [name_m]Jedediah[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] is handsome. So I think if it’s a name you and your husband love (it sounds like it is), I wouldn’t worry about people thinking you’re affiliated with any specific religion or culture. I personally love the names together. Lastly, congratulations on your third precious boy!!! Good luck

We are also Dead fans in this house so I think the name is great!

I think it’s a great addition to your subset, especially with the nicknames, the only thing you have to consider is will bother you if people think your religious? I like [name_u]James[/name_u] better for the middle, [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] definitely makes it feel more biblical/Amish.

I would prefer [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] ([name_m]Sol[/name_m]) as a first, but I don’t mind it actually. It’s kind clunky cool, but still not as cool as [name_u]Kai[/name_u] and [name_m]Zeke[/name_m]. Bonus that it’s a family name.

Have you thought of [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]? Great meaning too…

I lik [name_m]Jed[/name_m], but not [name_m]Jedediah[/name_m]. Have you considered [name_m]Judd[/name_m]? It could be short for [name_m]Judson[/name_m].
